A local TV station was touting that when not in the water, wear a mask while at the beach. Outdoors, 90 degrees, sunshine, and wind doesn't seem very conducive for viral spread.

My 11 and 7yr olds are participating in the drive, chip and putt contest on Monday in Farmers Branch. We got an email with their group times on Friday and it mentioned that the kids need to wear masks while participating.

If I saw someone wearing a mask, especially at the beach, I would point and laugh.
I just got back from an indoor Waterpark designed for kids 10 and under. Has about 7 or 8 tube slides, and water is spilling down from the upper levels all over the place.. I saw some kids and parents wearing masks while going on the water slides. At the bottom there is a big half tube of water.
Can't imagine what it was like running around in general and emerging from the water feeling like you were being waterboarded every time.

There's no reason to wear a mask or be concerned about COVID-19 if you're outdoors and not having someone with an active infection cough in that your face.
There's no reason to wear a mask period
So I've been trying to find some scientific studies on masks lately. Best I can come up with are two anecdotal stories that are sketchy at best. One is of a Covid positive patient flying with a mask and no one around him got sick. The other is a hair salon in MO where 2 stylists wore masks and didn't make their clients sick.
Are these really the extent of real world studies that put us down this path?
