Of course there have been topics removed. Plenty of blatant fake news and obvious trolling from certain f16 posters that have gotten topics deleted.

this "safe space" is the only place on my internet travels where I get anti-vax **** (not just covid anti-vax stuff, but general anti-vax), people who are pretty sure HCQ just hasn't got a fair shake yet, and my favorite, a dude who asked how much ivermectin he should get at tractor supply to mix into his dad's drink.

Can you define "both sides"? There are plenty of different opinions represented on this thread alone, and the OP was about mistakes that were made during covid. If your definition of both sides is one side accepting the reality of covid and the other denying it, then that side is not really worthy of being taken seriously. I'm not talking about people who are against mask mandates and vaccines... reasonable minds can disagree on that... but people who think covid is a conspiracy to take down DJT or something. Ridiculous ideas don't deserve respect.

If anything the covid board is where free exchange of ideas is allowed (and there is plenty of dissent here). I really dont see what your gripe is.

There was literally a screen shot of an email from a moderator saying that the forum was intentionally moderated for a group that believed a certain way.....

I think it was on moderator with a message that is not consistent with what has gone on. Yes, they want to keep it from from Politics conspiracies, but if you read this board you can see differing opinions all over the place. They've been a little heavy handed to move things, but that post was removed likely more for the personal attack on a long time poster, than for the message.

Likely due to how you're saying it. I've said the same about masks and lockdowns and not had the same issues. Being civil goes a long way....

First of all, you dont have to be condescending.

Second, I saw the screenshot. I think staff removed it because it was off topic and was borderline taking shots at them. I cant speak for them but I think they are trying to make sure this board does not become too politically charged and pushing certain agendas. It's impossible to remove politics from the covid issue completely, and I've seen many, many posts and threads on the more conservative side that dont get taken down (again, look through this thread).

On f16, one view on covid is dominant (being against masks, against vaccines, covid is overhyped, etc). Here, i've noticed it's more varied. The notion that this forum is a bunch of "coronabros" living in fear and thinking we should wear masks while driving and sleeping is just not true. I bet if you polled most of the posters on this forum, the majority would say they dont wear masks often, are vaccinated or plan to be, and also believe that lots of the media narrative on covid has been irresponsible at best.

Point being, there is a narrative that is pushed on 16 that simply isn't the dominant view on this board. It's not that dissenting opinions are "shut out."
