I have a buddy that works for a major airline that said they are struggling now with pilot shortages due to an increase of blood clots in older pilots that are causing them to lose their medical certifications to fly. The airlines were heavily pushing vaccine adoption but so far they've been pretty quiet about the blood clot issue. Will be interesting to see how the industries handle this type of side effect as more and more employers push vaccines. In the case of older pilots losing a medical certification is typically career ending because it can take 2-3 years to regain it which would be tough if they're already in their late 50s/early 60s. Would suck to end your career early because you thought you were doing the right thing.
Kind of damned if you do/damned if you don't situation many are in and gives another thing to weigh when deciding whether or not to get the vaccine.
