Speaking of looks like Gabi Rodriguez looks to be leading her team to another state title in 5A, Brooke Lacewell in 4A. Dawson and Jenna Thedford look to be on a collision course with 2027 commit Sophee Peterson in 6A!! Should be a fun postseason!

Prior to the match yesterday, Jaime was talking to a very tall girl and her family a lot that appeared to be a high school player. Anyone know whom that might have been?

I saw that too but have no idea what that could mean. Transfer? Would be weird considering season isn't over. Recruit? really late to sign top players for next year. International?

Oh forgive me, that was me on volleytalk saying things to shut people up because they were trying to discredit Jamie as a coach. We'll have room for 5 transfers though. So it's a given we'll go after those positions and I like our chances at landing big at those positions. I mentioned we'll be solid at setter, outside hitter, and libero. But we'll need another opposite and middle. I think we got to swing big for the fences there.

Some stupid tu fans were saying Jamie can't coach or develop or recruit and that he was given a roster of talented players. They thought Perkins, Hellmuth, and Waak were already here when he got here and said he walked into a good team lol. People are dumb

Logan and Iffena wouldn't be the players they are without this coaching staff! I will say though, Underwood hasn't really developed, she's been the big disappointment for me

Actually, to me, I think Underwood has gotten a lot better through her junior year under Morrison. This year however, she hasn't developed as much as I would have liked. I thought she did terrific towards the end of the year last year into the tournament. Hoping for the same again!

Every player has gotten better in my opinion since coach arrived. This year has been less though but maybe a coach can only offer so much. This year seemed more a push as a team to achieve lofty goals with a bunch of seniors.

Ifenna though somehow reached an even higher level than last year.

I think the point is that she probably hasn't shown as much improvement over last year as we might have hoped and, on a team trying to get into the top 5 mix (ie among the best of the best), that position is probably our weakest link. That said, she's tough as nails and her leadership certainly plays a big role in the team's overall chemistry and maturity. That will be big deal come tourney time!!

I went back and watched film from her freshmen year to now. The improvement is there, but very marginal compared to Iffena and Logan. I was hoping the elite play she showed against Wisconsin last year would carry over, but that isn't the case. We let too many balls drop from simple tips. This year, she consistently oversets and traps our hitters on out of system sets. Is consistently out of place defensively and struggles to read fairly routine swings. I'm excited for Applegate and Gabby to compete for the jersey next year

Yeah good thing we added all 5! Losing 9 seniors, even with the 5 added, we'll still have room for about 3-5 transfers. That's accounting for no one else leaving

I think priority number 1 would be an absolute stud middle. We'll only have two on the roster Djurdja Stanojevic and Lolufe Adedeji… so no experience at the position. We need an all American / all conference type of middle. We'll have Stowers and Fitch on the outside along with incoming freshman Sara Bowcutt. On the opposite we'll have Taryn Morris and freshman Brooke Lacewell. Morrison seems to like Morris and hopefully she can develop well. But I think we could bring in an experienced veteran at that position as well. DS we'll have Addi Applegate, and we're adding two freshman. I'm really high on Gabi Rodriguez and think she may push Applegate for the Libero position. Jenna Thedford is really good there as well. Setter we'll have Kirra Musgrove and Margot Manning. We didn't recruit one in the 2026 class! So I'd go a middle and a couple pins first and foremost!
