Game Preview
The post season is here. After an incredible regular season that saw the Aggies go 22-3 with only one conference loss, a huge win over the orange team, a 10 game win streak to end the regular season, it's now time for the postseason. It all starts tomorrow, quarterfinal 4pm against 15 seed Vanderbilt.
Vanderbilt took down Miss State in the first round before picking up the huge upset against Georgia. All 3 teams we swept. Vanderbilt is having a Cinderella run as a 15 seed, however they only won 3 conference games. Their leader in kills and sets has left the team and they'll be on their 3rd match in 3 days playing against one of the best teams in the nation in Texas A&M.
We should be able to handle business fairly easy! Vanderbilt is rolling, but not like us. We are on a 10 game winning streak and playing the best volleyball of the season by far. Our block is becoming a huge problem for opposing teams, we're serving tougher, we're passing better, and we're hitting better. We swept Vanderbilt easily the second match of conference play.
Vanderbilt is led by its middle Jackie Moore, who's a lethal threat offensively and their outside Reese Animashaun. Their best player early in the season Kamryn Chaney hasn't been with the team for a few weeks due to an unknown reason. To keep the ball out of Moore's hand we must serve tough and keep them uncomfortable. If we're rolling on offense I don't think they'll be able to stop us and we can win this comfortably.
It's the post season and we need to stay in top form and this should be a game we win easily. I believe we have a special group and this postseason run begins now. The ladies got to Savannah Friday Night, had practice yesterday morning, went for lunch on a river boat, visited some coffee shops and a Christmas Market. This is a veteran group and this is business as usual! I'm excited to see us in a tournament format! It all starts at 4pm against Vanderbilt! BTHO the sec!
