I didn't watch enough vb to know who was essential to hang onto. Of course, we lose the players out of eligibility but who do we throw an ton of money at to keep for sure?
Every fb team has ton of money for the qb, but does vb have enough nil money to keep the absolutely critical players?

We lose Lexi Guinn who was a senior but redshirted I believe that will be it. Who else wouldn't want a shot to play for the coach of the year reigning national championship team?

The other answers are nice, but you are the only one that even tried to answer my question.
With nil there is always a chance to lose a top player for additional money. No matter how good or nice the coach is.

Different sport with different dynamics. I'm sure NIL comes into play, but coaching/resources/personnel situation can probably overcome some NIL deficiencies. We're talking way less money for all but the very top players and coming from generally wealthier backgrounds than football/basketball.

Stowers is the one you throw money at to keep around, but I also think she's here for personal/health reasons. We certainly need to keep her comfortable with NIL, but I don't think she's only going to go to the highest bidder.

Jamie was an olympic volleyball coach. His job was to find talent and develop it over 4 years to compete in the olympics. He showed the college volleyball world what that meant when he brought us a national championship in 3 years. He's a player's coach. I don't see any of our younger players entering the portal. Why would they?

Lexi is my kiddo's favorite player on the team. We talked to her this season and she said she wanted to play for her senior season. She red shirted so the power house could win the championship while she grew her skills under Jamie. I hope a Texas team picks her up because I'd love to go watch her play next year.
