2024 Jasper linebacker Tyanthony Smith commits to Texas A&M

The same program that sent Red Bryant to Texas A&M back in 2003 is sending the Aggies another elite defender as Jasper linebacker Tyanthony Smith‍ has announced his intentions to continue his football career in College Station.

The 6-foot-1, 210-pounder let his decision be known today via social media, and in doing so, Smith becomes the 14th commit of the 2024 class.

After having offers slowly trickle in throughout his junior season, the tackling machine from just off the south banks of Lake Sam Rayburn has seen his stock soar with a combination of outstanding tape, a rapidly improving frame and sideline-to-sideline playmaking ability. Smith portrays a real nose for the football. He’s aggressive at the point of contact and wants to play a physical brand of ball, but he’s also adept in pass coverage — using his length and instincts to match up with receivers and tight ends.

You can view his junior tape below.

Smith chooses the Aggies over scholarship offers from LSU, Oklahoma, USC, Texas, Auburn and plenty of others.

Keep it locked to TexAgs Premium for a further breakdown on this big defensive addition for the Aggies.
