Aggies analyze win in Columbia, look at path ahead

Kevin Sumlin
* I liked the way we prepared and our demeanor. But until you're in that environment, [you never know].

* There was chip on our shoulder. Nobody gave us a chance to win this football game. What we did tonight shows we're not a one-trick pony.

* I think we're making the right decision [at QB]. We took comments personally regarding what our team was about.

* Cam Clear has an ankle [injury].

* A.J. Hilliard dislocated his ankle. He's out for a while. That is going to hurt us.

* Competition is a coach's best friend. We don't give anything to anybody. [Freshmen] had to come in and compete...and they did.

Jake Spavital
* We didn't know how they were going to play us so the plan was to be multiple. Kids had some fun.

* Kenny is real poised in the pocket. He scrambled well and made completions downfield. He operated at a very mature level.

* Wasn't expecting [Hill to break single-game passing record] but I knew he would pass for a bunch of yards.

* Mike Matthews is a reason why the offense goes so fast. All three running backs mixed in well. All had a good night.

Kenny Hill
* Started up front with the OL. They blocked great and gave me time. Receivers made plays. Got confidence up and we just rolled.

* More excited than nervous. I was ready to go. Been preparing for this my whole life. Everyone was doubting us and we were ready.

* We were ready to prove everyone wrong and show that we can win without Johnny.

* I'm so excited ... I don't even know what to say.

* I don't really like "Kenny Football." [crowd burst in laughter]

* I know we needed to come out and put points on the board no matter what. We knew if we could do that, the D would do their thing.

* The second we touched down in South Carolina, we knew we were going to win this game. We just had a feeling.

* When I got named the starting QB, Johnny texted me and he texted me before the game to say good luck.

* To come out and play the way I did is a dream come true. I thank God.

Malcome Kennedy
* Kenny Hill played great. Talked to him before the game and told him we were following his lead. He was confident and executed.

Cedric Ogbuehi
* Big emphasis was tempo...play fast and keep moving the ball. We did a great job of doing that.

* We knew we were loaded. We came out swinging and never looked back.

* Kenny played great. He was confident and he did a great job of showing leadership and with his play.

* This was a big statement win. [SC] was just tired. Our tempo was so fast. they were tired.

Julien Obioha
* This win gives us a lot of confidence. We already had it but we showed everyone that we can stop run against experienced OL.

* We have a lot more veterans, talent and young guys that can play in the front seven.

* Going out and breaking records isn't always in the cards, but Kenny can really play and can be as good as he wants to be.

* Freshman DL are very talent young guys. Myles can run with the best of them. Freshmen balled out...did a great job.

Jordan Mastrogiovanni
* Night and day (now vs. Duke game). Being at my true position since the spring has really helped.

* All of the DL were fresh and it didn't seem like they were getting tired.

* A.J. Hilliard was having an awesome game. Heard his name up there a lot [before he got hurt]. Hoping for a speedy recovery.
