Texas A&M selects Reveille IX

We have a new Reveille.
The torch will be passed to Twix, soon to become Reveille IX, at Final Review on May 9.
A 12-member committee of faculty, staff and students made the recommendation to Interim President Mark Hussey, who confirmed the selection.
The Ohio-bred 16-month old collie was given to the University by Marcy and Mike Fine, owners of the renowned kennel Overland Collies.
“I could not be more pleased that owners Mike and Marcy Fine provided Texas A&M University with their beloved dog Twix to serve as Reveille IX,” Tom Reber, interim vice president for student affairs and chair of the search committee, told Texas A&M Today. “They were very helpful in providing us information throughout the search process and were confident that Twix would be an excellent Aggie."
The consensus seems to be that Rev IX has the sunny disposition Aggies would hope for. A&M gives us a brief glimpse in this video, termed "Part I of the 'Becoming Reveille' series."

“When my husband Mike and I first became aware of the national search for a new Texas A&M mascot, we both agreed that our beloved ‘Twix’ was the perfect collie for such a highly public role,” Marcy Fine added. “She is beautiful, lovable and has the natural personality that we believe makes her best suited to serve as Reveille IX and we were happy to donate her to Texas A&M.”

so it took a 12 member committee to pick out a dog that looks just like the previous one? Someone hire me as an Efficiency Engineer Consultant and i'll introduce one of them to google.

The purpose wasn't to pick out a dog that looked different, nor were looks the only attribute being evaluated, I'm certain.

2) Look, if you didn't rescue Rev I from the highway, or bounce around campus with Rev II, then shut it. The tradition has been rough collie since Rev III. Too many collies now for it not to be the tradition.
