Aggies crack top 15 in Associated Press & Coaches polls
Heading into SEC play, Texas A&M stands as one of the conference's five top-15 teams.
A 44-27 win against Nevada, coupled with struggles by teams ahead of them in the previous week's polls, jumped the Aggies from No. 17 to No. 14 in the newest Associated Press Poll, released Sunday. A&M came in at No. 15 in the latest USA Today Coaches Poll.
The Aggies (3-0), who entered the season unranked before defeating then-No. 15 Arizona State in Houston, will take on once-ranked Arkansas (1-2) in Arlington on Saturday. In 2014 the teams played a 35-28 overtime thriller from which A&M emerged victorious.
Ole Miss lept from No. 15 to No. 3 after defeating previous No. 2 Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
No. 7 Georgia, No. 8 LSU and No. 12 Alabama rounded out the SEC's top-15 group. Missouri landed at No. 25. Mississippi State, Tennessee, Auburn and Florida all received votes.
