Not one person in the room had the balls to ask about play calling at the end of our last drive?

Maybe the media is becoming apathetic as well.

What was the play all? For those of us that missed the game.

Kneeling would have killed the clock and won the game, but they do a pass play instead that goes incomplete and they kicked a FG. They still had time on clock to kickoff to Nicholls St and to let them run a couple of plays.

6 years later and we are still trying to develop , learn about our players. That's why we need a change. In year 6 we should be reloading not rebuilding.

Sumlin seemed more down to earth in this conference. Imo.

Not arrogant ( well there's nothing to be arrogant about ). Explained things well and so that an average fan could understand. Thought that was interesting

He's still got to go. They freaking last play. Only reason to run that is you're losing money on the spread at Vegas. Someone please post a reasonable excuse to run that

There was no reason to run that play. This lack of awareness has permeated his entire tenure.

The last play was all about your OC trying desperately to not look as lousy at his job as he is. He was trying to get points so he does not look so bad.

I strongly disagree

Local media in small markets rarely call the coach out. Their success depends too heavily on having access to people in the program.

Local media get by puffing the HC and program. They will not call the HC out until they know that a large consensus of the readership will support it.

He's done. So ready for the next coach. I think the players are too.

Sorry, but this just sounds like empty rhetoric. What does 'having access' mean? Are they actually going to be barred from the next post-game press conference? Of course not.
So what if you can't get in the locker room to interview some guy who's just going to mumble and give generic sound bites anyway.

Screw 'having access'. Show up to the press conference & ask real questions.

I'm not trying to sound like an authoritarian, but it simply does not work that way. The local folks are just there to ask the standard questions. It's not on them. They'll have their access revoked if they ask tough questions.

Those local journalists probably make less than $50k. There's no room to go cowboy on a head coach.

I think Christian's comment about Hubes was telling. Very positive. We'll see.
