It was an interesting weekend for Aggie Athletics as both the men's and women's basketball teams were in action and the swimming & diving teams suffered an unfortunate cancelation. During Monday's edition of TexAgs Radio, Richard Zane shared the latest from Aggieland.
Football (7-1)
Texas A&M stayed put in both the AP and Coaches Polls this week despite not playing a game. The penultimate College Football Playoff ranking will be released on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. on ESPN.

Texas A&M’s offensive line was named a Joe Moore Award semifinalist on Monday morning.
- The Joe Moore Award is awarded to the most outstanding offensive line unit each year.
The Early Signing Period for football begins on Wednesday and runs through Friday, so you’ll want to keep it looked on TexAgs this week. Men’s Basketball (3-1)
The Aggies suffered their first loss of the season on Saturday afternoon as TCU defeated A&M, 73-55, at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth.
- Jay Jay Chandler led the way for the Aggies with 12 points.
- After the loss, Buzz Williams, Andre Gordon and Emanuel Miller spoke to the media about the contest with the Horned Frogs.
Texas A&M is back in action on Tuesday night as the Ags host Southeastern Louisiana at Reed Arena. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m. CT and will be streaming on SEC Network+.
Women’s Basketball (6-0)
No. 10 Texas A&M picked up a win on Sunday night over Abilene Christian at Reed Arena as the Aggies defeated the Wildcats, 77-59.
- Aaliyah Wilson led the way with 15 points.
- Alexis Morris added 14 points in just 15 minutes off the bench.
- N’dea Jones had another double-double with 10 points and 14 boards.
- After the game, Gary Blair, Jones and Jordan Nixon spoke to the media about the victory.
The Aggies will be back in action on Tuesday afternoon as they host Sam Houston St. for a matinee matchup at Reed Arena. Tip-off between the Ags and Bearkats is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. CT and can be streamed on the SEC Network+.
Swimming & Diving
Following the diving part of Friday’s meet with Incarnate Word, the Rec Center Natatorium's fire alarm went off, and the building had the be evacuated. After the teams were back inside, Incarnate Word received the news that two of their swimmers had tested positive for coronavirus, so they packed up and went back to San Antonio.
- Despite the official meet being canceled, the Aggies still held an intrasquad meet.
Shaine Casas recorded the fastest time EVER in the men’s 100M IM at 46.33.
- This time is not considered an “official” record, but it did break the American unofficial record, set by Matt Grevers in 2016 with a time of 47.06.
