Texas A&M's Kenyon Green named SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week

"Another one" - Kenyon Green (Probably).

On Monday, the Southeastern Conference announced that Texas A&M's Kenyon Green has been named the league's Offensive Lineman of the Week for his performance vs. Missouri. It is the second time Green has won the honor in 2021.

After playing left tackle vs. Alabama a week ago, Green shifted back inside due to the return of Jahmir Johnson. Playing what many believe to be a more natural position, Green helped the Aggies' offensive front generate consistent push as the Maroon & White rolled up 283 yards on the ground in the 35-14 victory.

Green & Co. paved the way for a pair of 100-yard rushers as Isaiah Spiller galloped for 168 yards on 20 carries and Devon Achane amassed 124 yards on 16 tries. The Aggies reached the endzone three different times on the ground.

In pass protection, the offensive line provided quarterback Zach Calzada with ample time to throw for 148 yards and two touchdowns, completing 13 of his 25 attempts. The line allowed just one sack, their first in the last eight quarters of play.

Receiving SEC Player of the Week honors is nothing new to the All-American from Atascocita. After the Aggies' Week One victory over Kent State, Green was named the league's Offensive Lineman of the Week. A year ago, he was named a second-team All-SEC selection, and in 2019, Green was an All-Freshman Team member.

A key player along an offensive line that struggled mightily early this season, the veteran Green has helped turn Josh Henson's unit around, providing much-needed versatility and a powerful punch wherever he lines up.

With two SEC POTW awards in the bag, Green appears to be well on his way to All-SEC postseason honors on what could be a second-consecutive All-American campaign.

Kenyon Green is a football player. This dude could start at any of the 5 positions on the line at the next level. His versatility alone should have nfl scouts salivating. Throw in he is a great player and person and this dude has potential HOF value at the next level.
