2023 Haslet Eaton tight end Jaden Platt commits to Texas A&M
Jimbo Fisher’s offense has been known to highlight and develop high-quality tight ends, and 2023 Haslet Eaton tight end Jaden Platt is excited to be the next man up.
At 6-foot-5.5, 230 pounds, Platt earned his Texas A&M offer following a strong summer camp performance in June of 2021. Then-tight ends coach James Coley made a strong first impression, and the Aggies were quickly placed among Platt’s top schools.
In December 2021, Platt committed to Stanford, but he decided to take another look at his options when Stanford head coach David Shaw resigned following the 2022 season. The Aggies quickly got involved, led by wide receivers coach Coley, and Platt took an official visit to Aggieland the weekend of Dec. 16.
A former quarterback, Platt plays the game with a high IQ as well as size and athleticism. He is a big-framed prospect with a large catch radius and the body control to make quick adjustments to locate the ball.
Platt becomes Texas A&M’s 16th commitment, and he plans to enroll in December.
In addition to Texas A&M, Platt also held offers from Stanford, Arkansas, Baylor, Colorado, Florida State, Iowa State, Kansas, Michigan State, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas and Texas Tech.
