SECN's Cole Cubelic details what Petrino should add to A&M's offense

Before SEC Media Days, we took some time to catch up with former Auburn center turned SEC Network analyst Cole Cubelic who gave his thoughts on the upcoming days in Nashville. Cubelic also gave insight into how a handful of conference teams will fare this fall.

• Aaron Torres is my guy, I fight more with Josh Pate. Josh Pate sent me a vibrating panel that you stand on. I was telling him about my back and hip problems, and he sent me one out of nowhere. That is the kind of guy Josh Pate is.
   
• I have been debating on how many shoes I am bringing to SEC Media Days for weeks. I am probably not bringing any Jordans because they are too clunky. I am on a big white shoe kick right now. When it is in Birmingham, it is easy because I can wear whatever I want. I don't want to lug a bag of shoes to Nashville. 
   
• I think it is great what Auburn has done through the portal. DeMario Tolan is off the team now. I think getting Larry Nixon III from North Texas makes more sense now. Also, Austin Keys came from Ole Miss. Half the starters on the team could be transfers from what Hugh Freeze has brought in. He has brought in the best tight end, quarterback, the two or three best offensive linemen, the best inside defensive lineman, and kept two of the best linebackers and edge on the team. Payton Thorne will be a lot more capable of getting the ball down the field. Jyaire Shorter will be a problem at receiver. Auburn did not have those things before he brought them in. The fans are excited, and the season tickets are sold out. The biggest obstacle is what they do on the field against good competition. They have players now that are going to be matchup problems. 
   
• It is not going to be an easy schedule for Auburn. The only reason Georgia’s schedule looks easy is because they are so good. I’m worried about the hangover from the night game against Cal. You can’t tiptoe through the Stanford test. The game at Kyle Field is going to be a physical game. It will be the first test of the offensive line. I think A&M has the deepest defensive line in college football. You get to find out what you are all about, then the next week, you have Georgia at home, and then you are at LSU. 
   
• I’m most excited for the offensive lines at LSU or Georgia based on their talent and continuity. You actually have six starters back for LSU. You lose some parts at Georgia, like Broderick Jones. I think Sedrick Van Pran is the best-returning center in college football. Amarius Mims is an absolute monster. He could be the best offensive lineman in college football. I think A&M could be really good. They are talented. They have guys like Layden Robinson, Reuben Fatheree II and Bryce Foster. I just need to see them put it all together. I think if Kentucky and South Carolina have a good offensive line, they could be pretty good. 
   
• With Bobby Petrino, I want to see a little more diversity, pre-snap movement, and some different formations. I think you will be able to move the ball down the middle and down the field more. I don’t think there is going to be a night and day difference. I just think there needs to be more of a variety with the presentation of the offense. I think Jim Chaney being in the facility is a massive addition. He is masterful with different motions, formations and with the run game. He is loveable, fun and not running into people.
