Key notes from Olin’s thoughts on Diggs
- The only real consistent pass rush was provided by Fadil Diggs. He played at an All-American level against Alabama. He had two sacks, was credited with a quarterback pressure and forced two fumbles. If you could see something similar or more consistent, you are talking a potential All-SEC guy. He was spectacular against Alabama.
- There are a lot of things that correlate to not having more sacks. Diggs missed four games and most of a fifth one. Teams didn't pass as much against A&M because they didn't have to. People talk about it being Jalen Milroe at quarterback against A&M. Bryce Young doesn't have the speed Milroe has. Milroe was able to escape.
- I think you can see Diggs really break out. Right now, he is the only true proven speed rusher, and he has the size. He had six tackles against Arkansas. He was moving around in that game.
- He boosts the pass rush by being there. He had a sack against South Carolina, and then he got hurt.
- A&M has to improve the pass rush. They only had 18 sacks, and Diggs had three of them. If he can get some help, maybe he will get some sacks where the quarterbacks are trying to get away from the first guy.
- I think there is every reason to feel like Diggs will have a big year.
