Flip season - The flips of Josiah Sharma from Oregon to Texas, Adam Schobel from Oklahoma State to TCU and Kaleb Burns from Texas Tech to Baylor are listed above, but they are not the only ones. Over the weekend, TCU also flipped Fort Worth All Saints DE Blake Robinett from UNLV, while Baylor flipped Flowood (MS) Jackson Prep OL Matthew Parker from Vanderbilt.
Dequane Prevo postponed decision - In mid-July, Texarkana Liberty-Eylau 2026 WR Dequane Prevo announced plans to make his decision on July 30. However, after more thought and consideration, he has decided to postpone his decision. Prevo has been on college radars since his freshman year and holds offers from the likes of Arkansas, Baylor, Penn State, Texas A&M and USC.
Decision day ahead - Last week, Jonah Williams announced his decision plans for Aug. 24, and OL Michael Fasusi made plans for Aug. 21. They join WR Kaliq Lockett with August decision dates. Lockett will decide on Aug. 7 between Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Texas and Texas A&M. Arlington Seguin WR Carterrious Brown also has an August decision date. He will decide between Baylor, Colorado State, TCU, Texas and Utah.
New name to know
S Cooper Witten, Argyle (TX) Liberty Christian – 2027
Size, athleticism, intelligence. Witten checks a lot of boxes right off the bat. He stands at 6-foot-1.5 and 205 pounds with a 4.56 laser time in the 40-yard dash, an 11.03 in the 100m and a 36-inch vertical.
Witten describes his playing style as relentless, and he prides himself on going all out on every play. A quick look at the tape verifies the claims. He does not shy away from contact. He attacks the ball in coverage, and he makes plays all over the field.
As a freshman safety, it showed as he recorded 83 tackles (64 solos), four TFLs, six PBUs, two INTs, a pick-six, and three blocked field goals on his way to earning district newcomer of the year, first-team all-district and first-team all-state honors for the undefeated, state champion Warriors.
His effort and work ethic, which he gives much credit to learning from his father, coach and football role model Jason Witten, also showed strong this summer as he visited and camped at Oklahoma, Missouri, TCU, Duke and Baylor. He earned scholarship offers at every stop.
In addition to football and track, he also competes on the varsity basketball team. This fall, he plans to be a playmaker on both offense and defense.
