All-SEC OL Trey Zuhn III to use final year of eligibility in Aggieland

After the season, Trey Zuhn III earned All-SEC honors.

Today, the Aggie legacy announced he will remain in College Station for another season.

As a junior in 2023, Zuhn was named Texas A&M’s offensive captain and started all 12 regular-season games at left tackle on his way to third-team all-conference selection.

This decision also represents a huge roster-retention victory for Mike Elko, Adam Cushing and the Aggie offense, as Zuhn played a huge role in paving the way for a rushing attack that ranked second in the Southeastern Conference.

A&M’s ground attack averaged 199.2 rushing yards per game and eclipsed 225 yards five times. In addition to the nation’s 22nd-ranked running game, A&M’s offensive front ranked second-best in the SEC and 16th nationally with just 49.0 tackles for loss allowed.

Individually, Zuhn allowed just 13 hurries and 16 pressures in 808 snaps at left tackle, according to PFF. He was penalized just twice and allowed a trio of sacks.

For his efforts in helping the Aggies accumulate 488 yards of total offense and 310 on the ground at Florida in Week 3, Zuhn was named the SEC’s Offensive Lineman of the Week.

A member of A&M’s 2021 signing class, Zuhn appeared in four games as a true freshman but took a redshirt that fall. From 2022 to now, he has played in 40 games, making 36 starts across the last three seasons.

Despite hailing from Fort Collins, Colorado, his family ties to College Station led him to the Maroon & White as a four-star prospect.

Next, in his final year of eligibility, Zuhn aims to combine his well-documented leadership and physical abilities to help Elko’s Aggies improve on an 8-4 campaign.

huge win

older mature lines are always the best. we should have all five returning starters plus 2 with nabou comng back from injury and our left tackle duo combination. hopefully they can have a senior year to remember much like the 2020 offensive line had.

Great news for two reasons:

1. His experience and work ethic.
2. His leadership as a veteran of the team.
