This is Elko's defense. So he's going to hire a guy that does what he's told in that area. The defense not doing well is on Elko. And it will still be on Elko if he makes a change at DC.

Just like Sarks offense is on him. It does not matter the offensive coaches he hires. It's on Sark.

I hate Elko saying I will never watch the defense play like that again. All he had to do was walk over to Bateman during the last drive of the Auburn game and the USC game and say damn it pressure the quarterback. We should ride or die with the blitz . If Elko showed some initiative late against Auburn and USC, then we may have two more wins and finish the year 10 and 3.

You realize it actually probably told bares to run the defense that was run.

It appears he thinks it's just lack of coverage skills and not that we did not get pressure on the QB.

This is Elko's defense. Not Bateman's.

I covered Bateman as well Einstein in my response. The reasoning he hired him and it's Elko's defense.

And my point on Klein totally destroyed your main point that sought after coaches would not come here with Elko.

That presser was filled with damning admissions of incompetence, to include impugning wins over Florida, Mizzou, and LSU by describing them as "lucky," and collectively describing the players as "not a good football team."

His frustration and anger induced candor may create more problems for him than the absurdity on the field.

It's good that we are now paying players to come to A&M. They certainly won't come for coaching development if they hear any of Elko's last four P4 post-game pressers or watch those games.

So, what is he going to do to the defense to "fix it" after admitting to an entire season of failure?

Saying he changed the culture....

Idiots still jabber jawing & dancing all year year long even though they suck ass

Star senior dlineman couldn't be controlled (nor was he ever disciplined) for all his egregious personal fouls

Couldn't pick up a yard against dlines w a pulse (effort)

Couldn't sack a qb or stop the run (effort)



Yea his culture change is definitely one for the ages

Our New Defensive Guru HC just admitted our defense sucks and has no concept on how to play defense. Only in College Station.
