A 3-pointer by “Four” moved them up two spots.

With Wade Taylor IV’s Saturday heroics in Columbia, Texas A&M escaped Mizzou Arena with a 67-64 victory to improve to 18-5 overall and 7-3 in SEC play.

In capturing their sixth win over a ranked opponent, the Aggies were rewarded by being ranked No. 8 in the Week 15 Associated Press top 25.

Additionally, A&M is ranked No. 9 in the latest USA Today Sports Coaches Poll.

Improving on their season-high mark of No. 10, this is just the 23rd week in program history that the Aggies have been ranked among the nation’s top 10. Further, they appear to be closing in on the program’s high-water mark of No. 5, which was last achieved in 2017.

When it comes to metrics, the Aggies sit at No. 13 in the NET, which is one spot behind the program’s high since the NET was created in 2018.

Indeed, 2024-2025 is shaping up to be a special season for Buzz Williams and the Aggies.

When it comes to the NCAA Tournament, A&M has never been higher than a No. 3 seed. As it stands today, the 2025 Bracket Matrix lists the Aggies as a No. 2 seed with an average seed of 2.51. Across 86 brackets listed, A&M is a No. 2 seed on 46 of them. Further, with six Quadrant 1 victories and five additional Quad 2 wins, A&M might make a push towards being a No. 1 seed come March.

To do so, the Ags must stay hot down the stretch in SEC play.

Currently 2.0 games behind Auburn and Alabama for first place in the league, A&M has won four of its last five. Additionally, the Tigers and Tide must play each other twice in the final eight games of the SEC slate, and Auburn must venture to Reed Arena on March 4.

Certainly easier said than done in the extremely dangerous SEC.

In the meantime, for those hypotheticals to become reality, the Ags must simply take care of business.

Their next opportunity to do so comes Tuesday night at Reed Arena when A&M hosts Georgia at Reed Arena. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. CT.
