* The hiring of Butch Jones at Tennessee is surprising. He will withhold judgment on the hire until things play out some because he believes coaching hires are a little like the NFL draft in that when you don’t get the stud you wanted, the other player ends up being a stud anyways. It’s hard to predict exactly how things are going to play out, and that’s one of the reasons he believes people get fired up so much when choosing a new head coach.
