In just a couple of weeks as the new face of Texas A&M football, Mike Elko is working on harvesting new relationships around the state of Texas. It includes the Texas High School Coaches Association, whom Elko met with at a board of directors meeting last week.

Mike Elko & Co. have welcomed the transfer of former Louisiana Tech wide receiver Cyrus Allen. An All-Conference USA performer, Allen comes to Aggieland after two seasons with the Bulldogs in which he recorded 68 receptions for 1,278 yards and eight touchdowns.

Texas A&M has added former Youngstown State linebacker Alex Howard out of the transfer portal. A veteran of four seasons with the Penguins, Howard comes to Aggieland with one year of eligibility remaining and 142 career tackles to his credit.

Junior linebacker Edgerrin Cooper will forgo his remaining eligibility to enter the 2024 NFL Draft. After an All-American caliber campaign in 2023, Cooper finishes his A&M career with 205 tackles, 30.5 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks.

After three productive seasons at Old Dominion, wide receiver Javon Harvey is transferring to Texas A&M. During his career with the Monarchs, Harvey reeled in 70 passes for 1,063 yards and eight touchdowns.

Mike Elko & Co. have added to the secondary in the form of former Kansas State defensive back Will Lee. In his only season in the Little Apple, Lee earned honorable mention All-Big 12 honors after making 42 tackles and intercepting two passes as a sophomore in 2023.

Senior wide receiver Ainias Smith will forgo his remaining eligibility to enter the 2024 NFL Draft. After a five-year career in College Station, Smith finished with 180 receptions, 2,407 yards and 19 touchdowns to go along with two punt return touchdowns.

Mike Elko and Texas A&M are set to hire Kansas State's Collin Klein as the offensive coordinator of the Aggies. A 2012 Heisman Trophy finalist, Klein has spent the last seven years at his alma mater and guided a Wildcat offense that ranked in the nation's top 25 in 2023.

Despite being hired as the defensive coordinator at Syracuse, Elijah Robinson will finish out his duties as Texas A&M's interim head coach when the Aggies face No. 20 Oklahoma State in the 2023 TaxAct Texas Bowl. For Robinson, this is "the right way" to leave Aggieland.
