Pigeon88 - I see swimming just about equally pure as T&F. The athlete against the clock. No equipment, almost no judging.
As for the person above complaining the opponent having no effect....the opponents are multiple, they get in your head (or vice versa), and in longer races can block you. The opponents also affect whether you make finals or not.

Congrats on a great Aggie career and thanks for posting! I don't recall many Aggie athletes posting so it was nice to hear from you. Good luck in the future. With your work ethic I'm sure you'll do great.

We are in a tight race with Auburn for second in the MEN.
We are in a tight race for first with LSU for first in the WOMEN.

MEN: Auburn may get around 12 to 15 points in the hurdles and 5 to 10 in the shot put. That should be all of their remaining points.

Jessica Beard makes 400m finals. Morris of LSU misses out by .01 second. Morris was expected to get points in the event. Definately a blow to LSU.
Facey second in the 100M for 8 points, LSU was 1, 7, 8 for 13 points.

WOMEN:
I have Arizona State to get about 8 points in the pole vault, about 12 in the shot put, and 10 in the heptathlon. That should put them past us.
I had them getting 12 in the shot, 11 in the hammer, but only 3 in the discus. I was way off. They earned an incredible 20 points in the discus.
They may get around 60 points.

Just looked at the events for tomorrow and compared us to LSU and ASU...looks like we won't be coming away with a first place finish unless we get really, really lucky.

Baylor's possible QB next year finished 3rd in the 400 hurdles.
MEN (current - projected)
1. Florida State 32 - 52
2. LSU 31 - 43
3. Auburn 26 - 39
4. A&M 18 - 30
CU is done with 24, Kentucky projects to 26, Arizona State projects to 20.
It also looks like Baylor and tu will both pass us. I don't think we'll be finishing in the top 5 on the men's side. We had too many guys underachieve and really missed Phiri.
