Berdych takes the first set 6-3 against Djokovic on what should be a GREAT day of tennis! I don't know who I want to win out of these two yet.. We'll see as the match progresses.

great second set so far...in the tiebreak now.

awful way for that tiebreak to end. Djokovic did so well to fight off all those set points, and then the awful call on that incredible rally.

Excellent tiebreak! Better overall set from Novak, but the momentum just swung big time to Berdych. I don't think there's any way he comes back from this.

agree. I think Novak is done, unless Berdych absolutely falls apart in a hurry in this 3rd set to give him some sort of hope.

This could end quickly.

Berdych is just destroying it. I sincerely hope he can keep his nerves and play this well in the final.

Very strong match from Berdych. As long as he doesn't let the pressure of being in his first major final (especially at Wimbledon) get to him, I think he's got a real shot to win this title.

In the meantime, in anticipation for the next match, I thought I'd share some pictures my brother sent last night from Wednesday in London:

View of the grounds and Court 1 from Centre Court:

Queuing to get into the Federer/Berdych match. When the curtain is drawn, no one gets past the doorway:

awesome pics. I ****ing hate NBC...having to watch this on the damn computer.

Yep... I got tired of crappy quality on the computer so I just waited. So frustrating! That was a great match, Rafa just had too much game in the end, and Andy faltered when it was most important (and got a little bit unlucky in the tiebreak). I still think Andy will win a few slams, he definitely has the ability to do so. Rafa is just so humble and classy, it's hard to not cheer for him, but I really think Berdych has a good chance against him on Sunday. Maybe my hopes are too high for Tomas' first major final, but there's no doubt that he's got what it takes.

I realllllllly hope Berdych makes it a challenge. I agree the way he's playing right now he could very well beat Rafa...but it's his first GS final and it's Wimbledon.

Rafa is awesome, and also quite lucky on that tiebreak. Could have changed the entire match.

In the end, he's too good. I hope he stays healthy and has a chance to take a stab at Fed's record.

Anyone else getting tired of the show that Serena puts on when she wins a major? Act like youve done it before, please.

It doesn't take much these days for Serena to get on my nerves, especially after the fiasco at last year's Open.

As opposed to Roger crying like a little girl when he actually lost a Wimbledon final?

Please. It is a BIG DEAL to win a major and I think everyone deserves to show some joy when it happens. Plus, this is the first Wimbledon she has won without beating Venus in the final. I think beating your sister takes some joy out of it. So, this was the first Wimbledon title she could be excited about without feeling bad for beating Venus.

I suppose if you don't like her anyway, you would be annoyed no matter how she reacted to winning.

Only Lance Armstrong rivals Serena as my most hated American sports "hero" of the past decade or so. Others that I don't like I at least respect...not them.

But in all honesty, she's in a league of her own. Can't stand her.

I know I am in the minority on this board, but I really enjoy watching Venus and Serena play. Serena played really, really well today. It was a very impressive performance.

well Berdych completely choked away his serve at 5-6 to send the 2nd set into a tiebreaker and potentially put some pressure on Rafa.

I expect set 3 to be 6-2 or so and a breeze for Nadal. Congrats to him.

Probably a bit too much to expect Berdych to play like he has been in his first GS final...but I hate to see games like that last one. Gotta make your opponent work for it, even if nerves aren't allowing you to play your 100% confident game.

Yeah, I was a little bummed he didn't play better, but I certainly can understand how difficult that could be. I have no doubt that Berdych will win a major. When? I don't know, but he's good enough. Rafa is just a champion- a very humble and classy champion- so I'm glad that he was able to defend his 2008 title today.

Rafa has clearly surpassed Fed as the top player in the world. Tennis is lucky to have two such classy guys at the top of the sport.
