BLAM!

I certainly know it can happen, especially in the SEC, but when we completely dominate the doubles like we did tonight, I have a hard time believing anybody can beat 4 of our singles. Wen was flat tonight for whatever reason, and Stancu couldn't figure her opponent out, but WOW the depth and strength of this team is really remarkable on the singles side. #1 doubles will have their hands just as full on Sunday w/ Georgia in town, but the twins played one game that didn't last 2 minutes. Giving up the first 2 games it was like they were just measuring their opponent, then BAM! Take that -itch!! 8 in a row in very short order. And CSQ clinching the doubles point on an Ace, how sweet is that? But Sunday, might be weather related as well. If we have to go to the Bryan indoor courts, ouch!

Do the Bryan courts have a seating area?

They use to have some bleachers when you first walk in. I haven't been there in a couple years, but would expect them to still be there

Just went back on. Ags down 3-1

Didn't seem to have the same feel for the ball or spark today. They fought hard but things just didn't fall their way. Agree with the comment about the GA players being a bit b*tchy and acting like they are entitled.

I mean UGA has been solid at tennis for a long time now, but I just never understand the cocky attitudes.

Yea, especially at #1 Christina just wasn't on her game today, a LOT of unforced errors. When she played well she dominated the other girl but didn't do nearly enough with the other girl's second serve.

The coaches and players were extremely whiny all day but they played very well and took us down on our home courts. I was surprised with how well they played and kept their composure depite the fact that their attiudes were so poor. Hope the girls get another shot at them and we can play better at 1 and 2 next time.

I heard the comment made by Marcus that the ladies would NEVER use the Bryan courts again. Rightfully so I guess, our family barn would do just as well. The ladies did what Aggies do, they fought hard. Ines to do her part finishing her opponent after the delays gives strong hope for years to come, that girl just doesn't lose. I can see Naz's slot being filled very well there. Stephania on #5 when she could set up her opponent was deadly. Christina on #1 had some MAJOR raw deals thrown at her. The guy with the signs made mention that her Ref had a Ga Bulldog license plate on his car. He was also the ref for the twins in doubles on #3, which just happen to be the deciding match for that point. Howard said none of the "questionable" calls cost us the match, maybe not, but they sure didn't help us either. Sour grapes, but chances are good we'll get them again at Starksville at the SEC tourney, next time watch out. The ladies now have their table set. Beat Alabama and its a 3 way tie instead of 4, and we would still win the western division which should make us the #1 seed since we beat Florida, or if we lose we fall into second place. Next weekend is CRUNCH time.

Makes sense about the ref. I saw at least two different serves clearly ON the line (and I've watched a lot of tennis) only to be overruled as out by that ref for the #1 match. Ah well, bad day but yes we'll get another good shot at them for sure.

I don't mind losing to a team that play better then you that day. What I do mind is loosing to a bunch of whinny little entitled like *****'s (pardon my French) with poor sportsmanship attitude!!

I was just reading the Baylor press release and the coach was stated as saying that A&M has the best team in the nation and should win the national title. I wonder if he really believes that or is he just up to no good. Perhaps he is trying to get our girls distracted. Seems like a strange thing to say the day before the match. I think our girls do have a chance to go deep in the tournament and perhaps have a shot at winning it all, but Scrivano is almost making it sound like it is a done deal. I hope our girls rebound from the Georgia match and skunk those Baylor Bears into the ground!

bigboyaggie - common thing to do in these Olympic sports. You way undersell yourself and way oversell your opponent to your AD and your local fans (the only ones who read those releases). Then if you win, you look like a hero and get a raise. If you lose, it's "oh, well we were expected to lose, but we fought hard to make it close."

There's so little media coverage of these sports that it won't hurt recruiting by any noticable level.

Some of the sports have "polls" that are voted on by coaches like football...only just the opposite happens. Most of the country doesn't rank their own team and overranks their opponents so they look like they're outperforming expectations, thus keeping their jobs.

Lady Ags beat Baylor tonight 4-2. Lost the doubles point, then won 4 of 5 singles matches that finished. Played indoors at Baylor, and from the report I got, we played really well. Up next: Auburn on Friday evening

Poor Baylor Bears!

Best part of the match was when some Baylor fans got warned by the chair for saying some awful things to Stefiana on Court 6. Didn't hear what they said, but she went on to win, and every point she won she would yell in their general direction. Loved the fire!

Second best moment was Sun winning on a time violation by the Baylor player. She reached up real high and slammed a ball into the net, then collapsed on the ground. Timer started and she didn't serve in enough time. Oh the Baylor faithful didn't like that... LOL!

Way to go Ladies!

Always nice to get a win over baylor for the men or the women!

Goodness, even Georgia seemed classy compared to our old big12-2-2+2 rivals.

Good match today at Senior Recognition. Ines DeHaza won it 6-1 in third with the score tied 3-3. Good win ladies. On the Miss. State and Ole Miss and then the SEC tournament. I think this win puts them in the drivers seat for the SEC West crown.
