Men beat LSU 4-0.

Today's womens match had all the similarities of playing in Lubbock. Whenever the wind comes from any direction but the south it's an interesting day on the courts. Stancu playing singles on #1 hit a lob in the first set and before it even reached the net, it flew right back to her from the wind. Mamalat was tentative for awhile playing WITH the wind, she'd short arm her strokes and boosh right in the net. Once her back was against the wall being down 5-4 in the second set she got her mojo back and took care of business. Overall it was another good outing for the ladies. The youth is what makes this team so formidable looking forward. IF we were 100% healthy this team could be (and still MAY be) an OMG kind of team. Playing bunged up we are #7 in the country and will give Georgia and Alabama everything they can handle. We already have our replacement for Christina Stancu on the dotted line, and Paula Deheza will probably have to be examined at the end of the year due to her injuries/surgeries.

Today Georgia's women beat Florida.

Great comeback by Mamalet in the 2nd set. She was down 6-3 in the tiebreaker and won 5 straight points. I think the last 2 were aces.

Men doing well after big loss to Kentucky. Three 4-0 in a row on the road. Szabo doing great at #6 with straight set wins in all three matches. Doubles was also outstanding in the last three matches.

Chapa, I saw that on the SEC site. I had to do a double take but then remembered that Georgia gave Fl everything they could handle last year when Fl had their #1 (who graduated), so everybody moves up in Fl, but Georgia only lost ladies at the bottom of their lineup and reloaded. Playing at their house this year, and having crowds to compete with us in size and noise, our ladies will be heading into a hornets nest. We'll see what happens on the 28th. Being on TV (ESPN3) they'll play singles first again, which is Georgia's stronger suit.

Men start a six game home stand Saturday...should be some good tennis at Mitchell....hopeful for some decent weather, and hopefully some student turnout...if we stay healthy, we might be pretty good by tournament time.

If you want to get fans out just get Coach Denton to wear a speedo. That will for sure bring out some big numbers.

Nice win by Howard's ladies in Waco....Missouri here Sunday.

Nice win by both the mens and ladies teams yesterday. The ladies had few problems of beating Missouri, and the men took a hard fought match with TCU 5 to 2. The men take on Rice on Tuesday evening, and then get Georgia at home Friday, while the ladies travel to Athens to play the Bulldogs.

It'll be huge if both teams can get a W against Georgia.

Today Alabama's womens team beat Florida 4-3. They will be tough to beat at their place in a few weeks.

Didn't realize that Georgia women's lost to Vanderbilt, also on Sunday. Big match againt them Friday.
