Looks like whoever finishes first in the 4x400 relay will win the title for the women (Oregon, texas, and florida) barring a highly unexpected performance from Oregon in the 3k.

Annie Kunz is not competing in track this spring to focus on soccer for her senior season. My understanding is she intends to do track in 15 and 16. I think Shelbi Vaughn hurt her back at the NCAA qualifying meet last May and played volleyball at the end of the season. My guess she is working on the discus for outdoors.
We have won 7 of the last 10 outdoor championships for women and men so I am not going to criticize Pat Henry. What he has done here is remarkable. I think men's track only has about 12 scholarships and the women about 18, so keep that in mind.

Before we lose all perspective, note that if the tu women win the meet they will do so scoring in only 5 events (pole vault, high jump, 60, 400, and 4x4). We actually outscored them in the field events. If Kamaria doesn't get hurt she probably wins the 200 and we're sitting on 38 points and a chance to still win the meet. Those are the breaks some days.

Let's assume that the right thing happens and Florida is DQ'd - probably struck by lightening as well. I assume there is no recourse for the favorite being run off the track?

I would have been pleased with 5th place finishes from both sides. Women 5th, Men 8th. That men's relay leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

bat61 - I hope you aren't being serious in your tone. The one program that has really been a national power over the last five years has been men and women's track. In a national meet where every point means a place among the leaders, we just had our favored men's 4X400 team second leg man literally stepped on then pushed completely off the track by the Florida runner. It's the difference between 5th and 8th. I still have no clue why Florida wasn't DQ'd. IMO it was flagrant enough to have them forfeit everything in the meet.

The women lost the world leader in the 200 and their anchor for the 4 x 400. Yes, those things happen. But they've pretty much only happened this time. Coach Henry's record is unsurpassed in the last five years.

If you are just disappointed, that I understand.
