Good first day of signing on the women side. Picked up the top returning 400m hurdler, 3rd ranked returning long jumper and 8th ranked 200m runner. Haven't had much on the men side yet. If we can get a couple more top sprinters we should have a descent recruit class. Maybe Kynnedy Flannel or Lanae-Tava Thomas (Sammy Watson teammate) then it would be a stellar class.
We have not had a top 5 recruiting class both men and women in the last 4 years but yet we continue to be in top 5 at NCAA.

I am happy for Coach McRaven with some good signings in cross country and distance especially on women side. We always seem to have 2 or 3 good scorers and struggle with our 4th and 5th cross country scorer. Next year we should have a shot at making NCAA.

No 1 Long Jump recruit and also No 3 in 200m and No 8 in 100 Lanae-Tava Thomas has narrowed her choices to Miami and USC. She said the two schools meet the target for a place with a strong reputation in academics, notably in biology or pre-med, and a strong team with a knowledgeable coaching staff. She is signing on 14th November

We really need at least top 10 recruiting classes in both men and women every year to have a good chance at the NCAA Championships.

My error with Lanier...meant to write 21.10w (Wish he had run 20.10!), but I agree jeff84, he is a talent! Also happy to see that the men signed two talented high jumpers (Farley and Corbin) who should fill in nicely when Cragin graduates.

I haven't been following that closely, but are they signing any pole vault athletes? They have some great ones now; would like to see that continue.

...and 10:55 for 3200. McRaven signed the four fastest senior female CC runners from the state meet. That is a pretty incredible feat if you really think about it.

Chances are we will go from fifth at regionals to immediately becoming a threat to make NCAA's in CC next season, especially with a healthy Kelsie Warren.

She's a great kid and the talent coming out off Cinco Ranch is damn good. They had a fish win district and regionals and place 6th at state. Her partner in crime was hurt but can be just as good.

There's another good one that will be a senior next year that ran with Santoro and Black at Keller. Would be great to develop a pipeline at some of these programs!

Van Camp is really good and Clark isn't too bad herself. There are a lot of really good underclassmen distance runners and if this class can perform during XC season, we might get looks from girls that might not have considered us.
