That was my assumption too. This is our most talented team in a long time, if everyone gets approved to play.

Damien has i think the 5th highest UTR on the team with everyone on it so I wouldn't be surprised to see him play singles, but i do agree that he most likely impacts this team the most in doubles.

JCA and Filip advance to the Cleveland Challenger semis in doubles. If Trey Hilderbrand wins his match there will be ags in 3/4 semi-finalist pairings.

Filip and JCA advanced earlier today to the cleveland open finals. they will play 1 seed cash/tracy who are 2x ncaa doubles champs (ohio st).

This team is definitely missing a piece without Filip. But Pepperdine is always a dangerous team, especially on the road. Not a bad loss, but this team is lacking consistency.

I question Casper at #3, that seems overreacted given the results of the past 3 years. He seemed like is ceiling was always #6 singles. Not sure how I like him in the doubles lineup. Watched him today. He will compete, but he is lacking power to finish the 50/50 points

Absolutely stupid. 3 same conference matchups in the first round. plus TCU and Baylor have already played this year!! They should have done what the women's used to do and just seed the top 4 teams at each site then place the rest anywhere, avoiding anyone who is already on your schedule. This is dumb and the ITA should be ashamed of this. They need to figure out a better way to do this if they are going to continue with a 2 site format.

How crowded are tournaments like these for getting tickets?

I was thinking about taking my son on Saturday who is just getting into tennis. There are cheap tickets online but we won't know our exact match time until after we play on Friday. Are we just going to be able to walk up and buy tickets with no issue or do we need to buy them in advance? Would buying them after we play on Friday work or will they sell out? Should I just buy a full day pass (they aren't that expensive) even though I think we will just stay for the A&M match?

Personally, I wouldn't mind watching some other matches since I would already be there but I don't think my kid will last that long.

SMU's indoors is pretty spacious. I don't know about the ticket situation. i assume you can buy walk up tickets, but don't take my word for it. you might want to check the ita website about it

Line 3 doubles (very frustrating...Aggies were up 4-2, with 3 points to go to 5-2...have now lost 3 games in a row and are down a break at 4-5)

The projected singles list had other players in it, including Magadan and Salvestre. Now they are gone. Sadly.

Casper right now is a liability for us at the 3 spot. Against any team that is looking to compete at a high level he is almost a guaranteed point for the other team. I'm curious if Steve will move up tiago, there's just a higher ceiling with him and he playing really well at this point in the season.

Yeah - what is going on with that?

I think Magadan's situation is so up in the air. The reason he's even a conversation is the Judge ruling in december that Diego Pavia's (Vandy QB) year at juco shouldn't count against his NCAA eligibility. However, he hasn't seen an NCAA sanctioned event since, so there a real debate about the validity and weight of that ruling.

Furthermore, a tennessee baseball player who played at juco to start was denied a temporary restraining order from the NCAA. That meant as of now he can be denied that year of eligibility. Untill the NCAA officially grants eligibility, or is unable to legally deny eligibility then it's all speculative. Magadan has done all he can do to potentially play this year, but the NCAA is slow and even in legal battles they choose to draw things out long.
