Needed the boys 800, the 200, 3200, 4x400, and the boys discus
They needed to start an additional hour and a half earlier.
This is a great event, but it was really poorly run this morning. Knowing the weather coming in they were taking forever in the early races, 10+ minutes between heats at times, and waiting forever to go from race to race. Could have easily finished most of the races if they were more on top of it like they were as the weather started turning.
My kiddo did well, glad they got to her race since she won the 800, should have won the 4x8 yesterday but had a really horrid 3rd leg. She hasn't been very confident this season so far but this result really motivated her.

March has just begun! She's got plenty of time this season to work on different areas of the race and get everything aligned for postseason in April! Will she be at the Texas Relays? It would be great for another big performance or for some good competition before district/area/regionals

Looks like their district meet is at the same time so unfortunately no I don't think we'll beat the Texas Relays.
FWIW, one of the main clerks passed away this past year. That may be having an impact. Once you have a really good official at a key place, they are quite hard to replace when they are gone.
...and to be honest, a large number of those officials aren't as spry as they used to be. A handful tend to pass away each year too. It's not as easy to replace officials as it used to be.

Understood. Def seemed like something was off this year so that makes sense…and I'm certainly sad to hear of the officials passing. We are amateur track parents but that is the best run events we've been to, it was funny to see how many old timers there were running things.
If anything, hopefully it will be a learning lesson for organizers…they got their stuff together for the middle distance events and were flying through them until weather shut it down.

Andrew Jones wins the Texas Relays final with a wind legal (+1.9 m/s) 13.15. I think that makes him #2 high school 110m hurdler in history. The record is 13.08 in 2009 by former Aggie NCAA Champion Wayne Davis.
