Gulatzan is now 0-3 in round one series.
Selfishly, I would like to see Benn signed to another 1 year league min deal so he can get to 1k career points with one franchise. Have him be health bombed about 15-20 games at least to keep him fresh and one last run at the cup. If not for the collapsed lung keeping him out the first 20 games this year he probably would have gotten there this year
Just my opinion of course, but I'd really feel some heartburn from moving on from Robo. Yes i do think 12+ million is better spent in other areas (defense Nill you dunce), but I think he's absolutely necessary to this team's success. Without Robo we get swept maybe.
I think some serious conversations need to be had about Roope. He's so integral to this team but he's also made of glass and has missed way too many key games. Also could we continue to get younger if made a move with him? Idk tons of decisions. I'd say trade Harley but his value is all time low.

Harley wasn't awful but what a disappointment.

Gulatzan always loses in the first round. Then year two is even worse.
Maybe I'm just jaded now, but this one hurts less than the past two. I thought 2 years ago was their best shot, and that one hurt a lot. Last year, I was less confident but still thought we had a shot. Something was off with this team this year, and I really had a hard time seeing them get it done.

Agree here. I think Gully actually did really well this year, but injuries, plus Olympics, plus some guys who just don't fit this team made this year feel off.

His penalties have cost him a cup.
I think Nill is good at putting a competitive product on the ice. But outside of 2017, they just haven't made enough off the draft on his watch. So paying big salaries is hamstringing what they can do with the roster.

And he's refused to spend big on a d-man. Should've gone out two+ years ago and emptied the tank on an elite d man lien Minny did with Hughes. We've been asking for an elite RHD years….and here we are still asking for one.
Hintz has a full NMC. He ain't going anywhere. The only move I see that would seriously shake up the team is to move on from Robo. Not that I'm advocating for it necessarily, but that's really the only card Nil has to play this offseason.

Harley was really bad all year - like maybe our second worst defensive player and he didn't have a single point this series, which is crazy. Hopefully it was a contract hangover and he locks back in next year. Otherwise, he's going to be a boat anchor for years to come with that contract
I agree completely. Just saying we're in a rough spot because moving on from Robo would be very, very hard. He's been our best player give or take for four years now.
Agree. And the move with Myers was horrible. Hated that trade at the time and hate it more now. He's a clumsy oaf and they've now burned a nice pick and chewed up more cap.
I am advocating for that.

We should've done it when stank, Bourque and Harley were still young and unproven but good value. Just unload the tank for an elite guy.
My concern is that signed-Robo < contract-year-Robo. I don't want to think that of him, but can't help it. Spend the money on some really good D men.
Moving on from Robo likely causes a step back. But that said, I don't see the room to reshape this roster in a way that it needs if you keep him. However, I think you keep him and find creative ways to shed some expensive dead weight elsewhere. He's at least there and solidly reliable, this roster has too many that are not

I mean... Dallas has more playoff wins than any other team the past 4 seasons, and we play in the most difficult division of the most difficult conference.
I hope we keep Nil for quite a bit longer.
I'll stop blowing yall up with this; as I said the other day I do think this offseason is huge. We at least have an option in front of us to sort of reset this team and adjust this window with Robo being an RFA and likely demanding 12-14 million. I think a team like the Sharks would be willing to give up a TON to bring in a star to play next to Macklin. After this offseason we're committed to winning over the next four years or so with not much room.

A lot of capable forwards on this roster. Hyry, Bastian, Hintz, Seguin, and Erne were all out of the lineup tonight (for various reasons).
Some hard choices are going to have to be made because we don't just need capable guys, we need better overall talent.
Benn, Bastian, Erne, and Bunting are all UFAs. Robertson, Bourque and Hyry are RFAs.

Everyone is emotional right now, but i think Nill has done an amazing job and the team was probably due an early exit after the success we've had the last 3 years. Hell, really since 2020.
I would hate for them to let Robo go of there is any way to keep him under the cap. The Olympics and injuries just killed us this year.

Otter was in the .890s for the series. He isn't a wart on Eddie Belfour's ass.
Team was very good for a stretch of many years, including this year.
But the team has flaws, and I expect some major differences to occur this offseason.

The COL PP v the MIN PK should be interesting. The stoppable force against the movable object - something's gotta give.

Don't understand how Desmith doesn't get a game or two. Dude was nails all year. Give otter a night off and change it up. Otter has shown he isn't fit to be every night goalie in playoffs.

Especially last two years when otter has **** the bed on random nights from starting every game.
Clearly there are days off. I said nights off like not playing every game.
Guess we should just keep riding otter and his sub .900 save percentage when Desmith had better stats all year.
On a positive note for otter he did give up two goals on two shots against Edmonton last year. Probably a record for playoff hockey. You apparently watch a lot so maybe you can let us know.
