I am headed to Sea Island on the 23rd for 4 days. We are scheduled to play 6 rounds as of now. Have any of you played there?

We have a cottage rented for our stay. The cottages are really affordable and most have their own private pools and are pretty amazing.

I've been twice. In '93 & '98. They were building the lodge at the course in 98. We stayed in The Cloisters both times on an all inclusive deal so we eat dinner's in the main dining hall. Breakfast and lunch were either at the golf clubs or beach. It's all top notch. Since the course upgrades and adding the lodge they've ramped the prices way up. I paid $30/round in '93. Now it's 180-230 It's still a great place. You'll get classic southern golf on the Plantation and Retreat (my favorite) courses. Seaside has great views and is probably most peoples favorite.

The whole place is 5 star and reeks with class. George and Barbara Bush honeymooned at the Cloister and they have planted several trees around the grounds in honor of the kings and queens who's visited.

We were noticing that two or the restaurants were Coat and Tie Only. Since there is now about 6 or 7 restaurants there is plenty of options, but did not know if it was worth it to get dressed up for dinner each night or not.

Main dining hall is coat and tie but well worth it. The 2 times we went we had dinner there 5 times. The other two nights we did the dinner on the beach and the cook out off the island.

We wanted to do everything up big, but since it is a guys trip, did not know if it was worth it to dress up each night. We now have reservations at the Georgia Room (main dining hall for at least one dinner).

Crab Trap - we might hit that up the first night since we are getting in kind of late. If you have any other suggestions, throw them this way.

I have got to tell you that was one awesome trip, well worth every penny. I definitely suggest staying in one of the houses.
