The wind blows for everybody. That shouldn't be an excuse for playing so poorly yesterday. The women had their worst tournament in the NCAA's and now the men are having a tough time. I think if we can just make the cut, we'll do well in the finals. I don't know why I think that - but I do.

We're really not making much progress today. Only passed 2 teams that were ahead of us in the morning grouping.
3 Doubles and a Quad are really killing what would have been a great round today for the team.

I'm not making excuses for getting beat by 20 teams yesterday, just pointing out the conditions are much better today. Thus lower scores for everybody.
Today, Trey Todd has:
Par, Eagle, Birdie, Bogie, Double Bogey and Quadruple (!) Bogey.
I have to admit, I'm hoping he Triple Bogeys one of his last holes so he can hit for the cycle!

Obviously they should have played better yesterday, but as I said before, and it's just a guess, but I think the wind kicked up in the afternoon and may do the same again today. I looked at the course and there just isn't much protection from high winds.
I'm betting that some of the teams in front of us, like Baylor, Western Ill, Colorado, Illinois State, Nebraska, etc., are going to have a much tougher time this afternoon than they did yesterday morning.

Much better showing today so far, but we're going to need a lot of help to get back into the Top 10 to advance. Pray for lots of wind.

We should end up around 12th by the end of the day. Looks like 4th best round of the morning groups. Not too bad. Luckily a few teams have tacked on some big holes here late.

I agree, 12th looks about right. We'll probably start the day three or so strokes out of the money, which is doable. With a little luck, we could end up even better today.
Could be as nigh as 9th but 12 or so looks about right. There are obviously some very dangerous holes on this course. 8 being the nastiest.
While I think we'll make it, there are a couple items that cause concern:
1) Schauer was on fire today. The chance of him have the second best round of the day again tomorrow are not real good.
2) Piller is still not playing at the level we need him to. He played much better the last nine holes, but 17 over in the 27 before that.
3) OSU is still a stroke in front of us and fighting for a spot. I'd feel better if it was just lower ranked teams in front of us.

As I said, we should be fine. But teams like Texas, UT and even Minnesota are good enough to beat us, despite us being ranked higher.
My last concern is that Illinois State in particular and Western Illinois to a lesser extent are doing very well. Obviously, two teams that aren't even ranked, have a good handle on a home state course.

I like our chances to be around tied for 10th tonight and finish in the top 7.
I like our chances tomorrow as well. The 2 Illinois teams are playing way over their heads. With a little pressure today and tomorrow I think they'll fold.

Western had a guy get a DOUBLE eagle on 9! (Their last hole) Wow!
Texas has fallen past the cut and we've shot +1 with four golfers on the course, hanging on to the 10th spot. OSU is red hot, opening up six under. They'll be safely thru by the time they make the turn.

I obviously cursed OSU, too. After starting six under they've now played 12 over. Doesn't look like they're going to be as safe as thought at the turn, but they should still be fine. Pablo Martin is +7 at the turn. He hasn't played well all weekend is really struggling (as most are) today.
Give credit to Tech, they're playing really well, but have a long way to go.

Well, we're outside it now. It's going to be close. Wisconsin is out playing us and Northwestern, Texas and SELA are right on our heels.
Just looking at the scores today, I'd say if we finish our round in the top 10, no one is going to be able to reduce their score to knock us out.

But that is easier said than done. Piller just scored a triple bogey and now we're a couple of strokes out. Really at this point you have to hope Baylor falls out (very likely) and so does Wichita State (also likely). That should squeeze us in at #10 if we don't fall further back.
As I said before, the problem is we are playing the worst of the teams in our group -- Michigan State and Wisconsin -- so we'd likely be the last team in.

As I typed, we just threw up two more double bogeys and we're now six stroke out. Unfortunately, we may be done.
Hey, we're only losing 8-1 against Cougar High in softball. Maybe we'll make a comeback there. 
Okay, not to keep *****ing, but I see we gave up SIX UNEARNED RUNS to end up behind 8-1. That's disgusting.
