I got to go to the UT body farm, and sit through a training session with John Douglas several years ago. His books will certainly make you look at things differently.
quote:Damn that would have been awesome....meeting Douglas I mean. I probably would've passed on the body farm (I realize you couldn't). I read "The cases that haunt us" probably 15 years ago and it kinda ****ed with my head a little bit, LOL. I'd love to just sit and BS with that guy for a few hours.

quote:
Family friend was a wild child in his younger days. He took Dean Corlls invitation to come "party" with him one night. If Dean hadn't of been so forward with him in the car he would be dead. He says that Dean kept reaching over and putting his hand on his thigh. He says after about the third time he punched Dean in the nose and jumped out of the vehicle at a stop light then ran into an over grown field. Says he laid in the grass face down for about half an hour. He watched Dean circle the field a few times then leave. Said he stayed there awhile to make sure he was gone before he got up and went home. He said he just thought it was some weird guy and didn't think anything of it until Dean Corlls face was on the news about a week later after Henley shot him.

One of the neighbor kids used to put dozens of mousetraps in his yard with bread on them to catch birds.
I heard he once buried a cat up to its neck then ran over its head with a lawn mower. Not sure if that's true though.

quote:My mother's very small west Texas high school took the Seniors on their Senior Trip....and they toured the aftermath at Texas City. They also stopped by Huntsville, where each kid took turns sitting in "Old Sparky", the electric chair.
My grandfather helped with search and recovery after the Texas City explosions. He was a navy ww2 vet.
