My wife communicates with her occasionally and I see her Facebook posts from time to time. She's doing well, all things considered

Were any of you at Scimitar's funeral? I met a bunch of his friends there & am FB friends with a couple of them, but I'm horrible with names. A&M beat Bama that night.

I was there. Met Talon and a few others. Still keep in touch with Scimi's brother through Facebook. Sad thing is, it seemed like he was doing well. He was in a marriage that looked like it would've stuck, very involved in his church, and was finishing his doctoral thesis.

Got a text from his brother late, late that night asking if he could give me a call, and for some reason, I just kinda knew what it was going to be about.

Wish I hadn't opened this thread. I miss my friend.

I get it. A mutual friend told me as well. Shocked when i heard it.

We text every couple of months with her and try to catch up with her a couple of times a year. It makes it easier since she moved to the metroplex.

Back in the glory days of the OB I posted about getting into fly fishing. He told me to call him. I did and he talked my ear off with great advice on places to go near me and how to fish for what I was after. Then he asked for my address and a handful of flies that he had tied showed up a few days later. He didn't know me from Adam.
