Well that was a nice little cry this afternoon.

I think about Reb every day, Terry any time I see a possum, i wish i could ask bigpumas advice all the time, hell.. autocorrect accidentally changed something to Scimi's last name yesterday.

Carpe gave me the Best Damn Dog ever. I owed him the biggest debt of gratitude for that. Lost that pup last January after almost 14 years.

Was sad to hear of his passing.

He changed the projection of my life back in the Dallas cool poster days. I was a dumbass kid out of school and he met my girlfriend at the time. I was proud to show off of the eye candy who could barely form an intelligent sentence. He was not impressed and very seriously told me that I can and should do better. I did and have a wife who's much smarter than me and 3 kids. My self esteem wasn't exactly high at the time and he called me on it. Chris was the honest ******* we should all be so lucky to have as a friend.

Courtesy request - can we please list posters' full handles instead of abbreviating? Would greatly help those of us who don't pay close enough attention to handles to recognize them when abbreviated.

Case in point - was 'ABL' the actual handle, or is that an abbreviation? I'm drawing a blank.

Unfortunately he lost the battle against his personal demons. I was looking through pics of 2016 because of an Instagram trend, came across my trip to NY when I visited him. I had just gotten into flight school and he was one of the first people to know.

Were any of you at Scimitar's funeral? I met a bunch of his friends there & am FB friends with a couple of them, but I'm horrible with names. A&M beat Bama that night.

I didn't stay for the game. Most of the people there I recognized don't post on this board (GB) too much anymore. There was a separate memorial at the chicken or duddly's about a week later that had quite a crowd as well.

I am pretty sure I met you at a tailgate for South Carolina game last year or the t.u. game in '24.

I met him two or three times through the Texas A&M Veterans Association. The same group I met Talon through. I remember when I found out he was Scimitar, we shared a look of suspicion of having met a GB'er IRL. I was sad to hear he passed.

GSlice06 was my former student worker Garrett Lyssy. He died last June at the age of 41. I don't know that he ever posted on the GB (Mainly Zoo and Outdoors, I believe), but he was an incredibly nice guy, and this thread made me think of him.

That he was. I still have an email from him from 2015 when he started his 2nd Masters program and had questions about financial aid and the weirdness that comes after multiple degrees at the same academic level (long story short- financial aid rules and regulations are confusing and inefficient for the most part- and were even worse back then).

We also used to have some good conversations on LNC

Scimi was a friend of mine. We had lunch and dinner several times when he lived in Dallas. He came to a lot of our tailgates. I'm also good friends of someone who was at his funeral in Memphis. Send a message if you need contact information.

I was there. Met Talon and a few others. Still keep in touch with Scimi's brother through Facebook. Sad thing is, it seemed like he was doing well. He was in a marriage that looked like it would've stuck, very involved in his church, and was finishing his doctoral thesis.

Got a text from his brother late, late that night asking if he could give me a call, and for some reason, I just kinda knew what it was going to be about.

Wish I hadn't opened this thread. I miss my friend.
