WFLA reporting from the search warrant affadavit that Gabby's phone was off since September 1st.
Also a suspicious text from Gabby's phone on Aug 27th to her mother where she called her grandfather "Stan" instead of grandpa.

The fact that they have stopped searching for him at the location they had been, tells me they believe he fled and is long gone. Maybe he made it out of the country. Maybe made it out of state. It didn't sound like they were ending the search completely, just changing direction.

He could have gone south to Key West...90 miles to Cuba!...reverse refugee?

Getting away and staying undetected is a difficult thing to do. trying to get out of the country would be an even harder thing to do. Lots of questions would be asked if he tried to get on a plane or boat heading to another country.

Let's say he did run off, how is he financing the escape? He can't use his or his parents credit card. Did his parents have a large cash pile they threw his way? Prepaid debit cards? If he did run off, he'll run out of cash at some point and get desperate and slip.

All this assumes he's still alive, which he very well may be. I just wouldn't be surprised if he's been dead for a week.

If this was a movie, the government would just use all their public cameras to do a search for his facial patterns. Then they'd get a possible match and some guy in a think tank would say "ENHANCE" and it would zoom right in on him.

The backpack that he left with probably has as much cash as they could get in a couple of days' time without drawing too much suspicion. He drove to the natural preserve, one of the parents came an hour later, left the car and drove him to wherever Plan B began. Then the parent went home, got the other parent, and they went out to "discover" the car at the natural preserve. Assuming the cops are searching their phones and Internet search history for "get my guilty ass son out of the country"
