In years past, that would not seem unusual, but in the modern world they tend to set up outside the WalMarts or HEBs with a whole troop. Her dad was standing back, pulling a wagon load of the precious cargo, and letting her sell. Good to see a kid doing her own sales. The Wife and I ended up taking her on a tour of the front flowerbeds and all the Monarch caterpillars in the milkweed.

Oh, and Carmel Delights and Thin Mints were purchased.

Glad to hear there are still some out there willing to work. A while back we posted on the neighborhood FB page that we were in the market for cookies. None of the neighborhood scouts bothered stopping by. Two of the moms replied with links.

I ended up buying 50 boxes to pass out to customers from a family friend's daughter

How much did the prices go up? Heard from someone that the food producers jacked up the prices on GSA and there's worry it will impact sales.

I saw they went up $1 per box. First increase since 2020. For most of the flavors that's a 20% increase.

My first job after graduating from A&M I was working as an accounting assistant at a small computer firm. I got a call that said the President of the company wanted to see me in his office.

With great trepidation I talked to the executive wing and entered his office. Sitting at his desk was his daughter, in full Girl Scout regalia with an open order form on the desk.
The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But, it's still on the list.

I'm generally agreeable to buy GS cookies or BS popcorn if they ring my doorbell.

I'm a little less inclined to buy outside of a store (even though I participated in the practice when my son was a scout) but I will occasionally.

If all they do is send me a link to buy, that's a big no for me dog.

I'll only buy if they come to the door and they try to sell it and not their parents. I refused to buy from someone in the office when the kid is not even present.

girl scout cookies are really pretty bad. Pretty much any cookie in the grocery store beats it, except peacan sandies. And you shouldn't be encouraging young girls to be independent or teach them dangerous skills like entrepreneurship and self esteem.

Why don't you just get a van with no windows and write "Free Candy" on the side in spray paint. Same effect..

My son goes door-to-door throughout our neighborhood selling the BSA popcorn. I just follow behind with the wagon full of popcorn. He is the only scout from the pack to consistently sell enough each year to get the district's free day pass to the local water park since he's the only one to go door-to-door.

I've noticed his public speaking skills get better every year.

A guy in my office brought his daughter around in her uniform and made her do all the talking. She also had to do the deliveries. Much better than just bringing the order form and leaving it in the break room.

My wife bought some popcorn from a door-to-door Scout. She saw him again at church a few weeks later and said "hi, didn't I buy scout popcorn from you?" to him and his family after mass. He quickly replied "did you run out, need some more!!!".....She laughed and said "wow, you should be in sales in when you get to adulthood!"....
