With advances in modern science and my high level income, it's not crazy to think I can live to be 245, maybe 300.

I'd like to go out peacefully in my sleep in my 90s like my grandfather did. I'd hate to go out screaming, horrified, and panicking like the people who were riding in his car with him.

As long as I'm still hot. So maybe another 10 years or so.
You can say that again.maroon barchetta said:Philo B 93 said:

This was just as funny as the version NoahAg posted above.

Considering I am 51 with a (ooops) 5 year old, at the bare minimum, I want to at least make 70.

I think you younger guys will adjust your number as you get older. I'm 68 and live in a golf retirement community. I'm on the younger end in my group of friends that plays golf 4 days a week. None are over 80 but several are pushing it. When I get out early there are people walking, heading to the pool, playing pickleball or tennis. For me and my friends life begins at retirement. Keep yourself active and the best is yet to come.

A friend of mine was diagnosed with ALS a few years ago, he said if he got to the point where he couldn't feed himself he would end it. He endured having to chop his food while he could still swallow, but wouldn't go as far as to get a feeding tube.
He flew from his home it Atlanta to a resort in New Mexico, did a medically assisted suicide and called it a day with his wife by his side. It might have been different if they had kids, but I think he did it right given his situation.
He was 53.

Life ends at retirement but I like your mentality

I'm ready for Jesus to come take me now. This world has lost its freaking collective mind.

When people talk about when they want to die, they don't think about how they'll want to live. So many people live the last 10 to 20 years of their lives unable to do the things they hoped to do because they didn't take care of themselves when they had the chance. There's only so much you can do to prevent mental decline, but there's plenty you can do to prevent physical decline.
