-Awake but hoping to go back to sleep for a bit.
-Go to the cemetery this AM to visit my dad
-Son and future daughter in law coming over at 9
-In-laws coming over shortly after
-Cook breakfast & presents
-Finish packing
-Drive to IAH to fly to Knoxville with my daughter for 5 nights

  • Recovery run today - I medaled in my age group in a 5K yesterday. I almost always medal nowadays - helps that I'm old as dirt.
  • Leftovers today
  • Cowboys and Mavericks on TV
  • I'll probably wash the cars this morning
  • Remember - decorations stay up until the Feast of the Epiphany on January 6

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Coffee brewed, I'm a little hung over from Casa Mangiere's last night. It's become one of my favorite dining experiences.

Easygoing day today. I'll make some breakfast tacos, we will start with Elf as the first movie of the day and see where we go from there.

This weather is terrible, though. Could not be more un-Christmas.

Walking dogs and a neighbor down the road comes walking with a beautiful black German shepherd without a lead. She said "I don't know whose dog this is! I tried to find an owner but nobody recognizes it!"

It followed her like she was his/her new person.

Boy is on the way from Austin. Other boy is here with his dog.

Cat is being demanding.

Here is the most interesting Christmas wreath I've seen this year.

When I drove past the hospital this AM I prayed for people to be well and not need to visit the ER today.

my mom and dad are buried out at the municipal cemetery by the lake, and I also have a bench under the cypress tree by the lake
I think it is a very pretty and peaceful place and the city of CS keep it up very nice

  • One of only a handful of times in the last 40 years I've been in my own house on Christmas Day.
  • Tamales at midnight (pork ones were pretty stout)
  • U & I Restaurant and prime rib for lunch
  • The Wife is on her 100th batch of cookies for all the family
  • Son arrives tomorrow (he's worked the last two days keeping us all safe)
  • Morty and everybody else arrives Saturday

Slept with the windows open last night. Got a little cooler than I expected, so I'm running the heat now.

Going to be an "understated" day. Benny has already opened his only present, and this is our first Christmas since Tanya died, so we won't have anyone coming over.

We will be eating Waffle House later.

Same. Thinking about that as I watch the Boys play Washington right now. I have Dad to thank (or blame, lol) for my Cowboys fandom. He'd take us to games and practices when we were elementary school age. Back in the Landry/Staubach years no less.
