I spent $1000 on 47 rear projection "hd ready" (so only 720p, 1080i) back in 2003 and spent $1000 again in 2010 for a 55 lcd that was actually 1080p.

Summer of 2008, "Benny" bought me a $2200 52" Sony 120Hz LCD TV off of Amazon. It was $2600 at Best Buy.
Tanya (7 months pregnant at the time) wanted me to get the set for Father's Day instead of buying it myself.

Like you let any man besides Gus and Uncle Mark within 20 feet of you.
this concept is INSANE! who TF stands on top of a TV to spend money? The logistics of taking a tv everywhere you shop just so you can stand on it while spending money is just bonkers.713nervy said:
What's the most you've spent on a tv?

We have a 75" and 55" Frames. They are amazing. The $50 annual Art subscription is the best thing for art lovers. Ours are wrapped in picture frames and they look like real paintings when not being watched.

Most expensive - Bought a 50" Samsung Plasma tv at the end of 2008. Just got a big promotion at work so we splurged. It cost about $2300 at BestBuy. Still have it to this day and it works great as a guest bedroom tv.
Heaviest TV I ever bought was in 2003 - A 36" Sony Trinitron. That sucker weight about 240 lbs. And that was just the tv…didn't include the weight of the custom stand. It was expensive too, but we used part of the incentive our home builder provided to purchase it. Aside from the discount on the home price they gave us money to Tweeter, a now defunct store based in Houston, and Star Furniture.
