Why didn't anyone ever tell me how cool the downtown Houston tunnel system is?!

In the tunnels, no. There are several buildings with gyms for their tenets to use. I usually change in the gym and run from our building to the bayou and out just past the Jewish cemetery on Allen parkway. I can get close to a 10k. Cool off with some core work and shower before heading back upstairs to eat and start the second half of my day.

Do they have security patrolling? When I was there around 5pm it was pretty sparse and empty. I'd imagine someone could go running in there if they really wanted to near the end of the day

I miss all the places that used to be there. Pandemic hit the businesses in the tunnels hard.

is Treebeards still there?

Yep. Under the Pennzoil Building

Treebeards can also be found under Enterprise Plaza (1100 Louisiana).

Ok, so this isn't a Lord of the Rings themed restaurant.

Man if you've lived in Houston for any amount of time and haven't tried Treebeards, you need to fix that. There is one at I10 and Bunker Hill if you don't want to come downtown.

Is it fun to stay there? Wait, you're probably the wrong demographic for that question…
