Only *mild* criticism would be giving the villain the "old southerner" voice. Nicely reinforces some negative regional stereotypes.

Toy Story 3 was the best of the trilogy. It was amazing, the crowd in the theater was cheering at the end.

I never saw a Toy Story movie until last year when they were re-released to theaters in 3D and we took our 3-year-old daughter. She loved them and I enjoyed them too. So yesterday we took our now 4-year-old daughter to see #3 and we all loved it. Great movie! Which is surprising because my initial thoughts based on that first preview I saw last year was that it would probably be a weak flop of a movie.

The last part of the film pretty much had me in tears. Such a wonderful film. Pixar does so well with the story telling. It was a fitting end to a great series of films.

LOVED it!

And it would be just as good in 2D.

Saw it today with hubby & my 3 & 5 year olds. There were some scary parts for the little ones, but we all enjoyed it.

I am glad I got extra napkins for the end. Very touching. OK, I sobbed.

Took my 2 1/2 year old this morning, and we both loved it!

I have to admit, it got a little dusty in the theater right there at the end. Something about seeing it with your little one and the thought of him growing up . . . maybe I'm just soft.

In any event, great movie!

Just got back from seeing it with my 9 and 5 year old nieces. All of us absolutely loved it.

I was all kinds of crying at the end. No spoilers, but the hand-holding scene just wrecked me. Amazing how Pixar had us completely sucked in to the genuine peril they faced. Then the other end of the emotional spectrum as Andy went off to college.

My 5 yo niece was in stitches at Ken and Barbie, and she was even tearing up at that final action sequence.

Great. Great movie.

Just saw it in IMAX 3d with the wife.... Excellent!

Going to take the kids for it to be thier first movie when the theatres are a little less crowded.

What a great movie. I laughed, I cried and I was once again emotionally sucked in from the beginning. Pixar does such a great job of telling a story without words.

Mild spoiler

Spanish Buzz was AWESOME

End mild spoiler

It took me until 3/4 of the way through the movie to figure out Ken's voice but once I got it it made him even funnier

we took our boys yesterday afternoon. Absolutely, fantastic, movie. If you had a dry eye the entire time your soul is made of pig iron. An American Classic IMO. Just outstanding all the way around. I could never have believe, prior to having children, that a movie about "toys" could have that effect on me.

Bravo!

Loved it. The part about going off to college hit home as my oldest will be there before we know it. Laughed and cried too...

Did y'all know that Barbie's voice is Ariel from Little Mermaid?

Dude, Ariel is a cartoon character. It's literally impossible for her to voice another cartoon character.

jk...I noticed that too. :-)

I was watching Up this weekend and noticed a familiar Toy Story 3 character. It's always fun to notice little easter eggs like this. This was early in the film while Ernie was floating away.

Odd question, but did the new voice of slinky the dog sound like Jim Varney or not?

Slinks voice is pretty close to Jim Varney but not quite it

He did have a VERY distinct voice though

What did it take in this weekend? Entertainment sites are blocked at work

I took my 6-year old on our Daddy/Daughter date to see it on Saturday. I'll be the first to say I don't like watching kids' movies. I never willingly walk into a child's movie unless I'm accompanied by my girls.

I do have to admit that Toy Story 3 was excellent. The Ken Doll had me cracking up throughout the entire movie.

Best of all was the fact that a dad and his daughter were able to do something she'll always remember!

I highly recommend the movie.

Slinky dog was played by Shawn Hunter's dad.

what i liked is that they wrapped it up perfectly to end the story with TS3, however, if they decide to make another, its set up perfectly for that as well.

as long as they keep with "story first," i don't mind them extending this series of films.

Yeah, I was blinking back some tears at the end of the movie, mainly due to the mother-son interaction and the leaving the old behind and looking to the new...reminded me of me circa 1987 when I was leaving for college...and when I was about 7-8 years old and taking all of my stuffed animals and dividing them up into football teams. Winnie the Pooh was a notorious fumbler...

I digress...just a superb movie from start to finish.
