I'll throw my prediction in:
Next episode opens with Hank and Gomey dead. Chapter closed, ice cold

I think the show failed in showing the close relationship between Walt and Hank. Sure they're in-laws and have frequent gatherings but they don't seem like close buddies..

I posted a picture of Jimmy dressed Heisenberg on the previous page... I don't think anyone picked up on it because they were so similar. Good to see someone else got some enjoyment out of it.

Disagree. To me, one of the keys to this relationship is that Hank has never really respected Walt as a man. In Hank's eyes, Walt was the wimpy nerd. They constantly reinforced this. That's what helped Walt operate under Hank's nose for so long and made the Heisenberg revelation so awesome. I do think they had a "soft spot" for each other and were buddies - and there were moments when they were "there" for each other, but I don't think they were ever intended to be truly close nor do I think they should have been - so to me not showing it wasn't a failure because it couldn't really exist. Walt's running an operation behind Hank's back the entire series all while Hank thinks he's a wussy nerd, so making them very close would have seemed fake.

No, we just didn't comment on it.

But it is still interesting that Walt is so against killing someone who he has never been particularly fond of, especially when he was more than willing to kill Jesse (who I would argue he had a closer relationship with than Hank).

it makes sense that Walt would want to take out Jessie but not Walt.

So, according to the writers, the next episode, 'Ozymandias', is the best episode of the series. Vince Gilligan says it will "knock your ****ing socks off".

It should either be that Hank and Walt have a close relationship, and this makes Walt not want to harm or kill Hank.....OR Hank and Walt don't have an extremely close relationship, so Walt shouldn't be sooooo against Hank dying in order to save himself and others.
In other words, the poster was saying that since Walt was so against killing Hank to save himself, then the writers must be trying to say that he and Hank were close. If this is their reason for Walt not wanting Hank dead, they did a poor job of showing this.
Obviously, there are other reasons than their relationship that Walt would not want Hank dead (family, Skylar, etc). But it is still interesting that Walt is so against killing someone who he has never been particularly fond of, especially when he was more than willing to kill Jesse (who I would argue he had a closer relationship with than Hank).

Are suburbans really that bullet proof?

quote:
some bullets are hitting the ceiling above Walt, as I recall. there's a scene in which walt is hitting the deck in the truck, his glasses come off, and the camera angle is from the floorboard looking up so you can see the roof being riddled.
