I'll throw my prediction in:

Next episode opens with Hank and Gomey dead. Chapter closed, ice cold

Parody on Jimmy Fallon, Joking Bad.

Pretty damn funny.

I think the show failed in showing the close relationship between Walt and Hank. Sure they're in-laws and have frequent gatherings but they don't seem like close buddies..

Disagree. To me, one of the keys to this relationship is that Hank has never really respected Walt as a man. In Hank's eyes, Walt was the wimpy nerd. They constantly reinforced this. That's what helped Walt operate under Hank's nose for so long and made the Heisenberg revelation so awesome. I do think they had a "soft spot" for each other and were buddies - and there were moments when they were "there" for each other, but I don't think they were ever intended to be truly close nor do I think they should have been - so to me not showing it wasn't a failure because it couldn't really exist. Walt's running an operation behind Hank's back the entire series all while Hank thinks he's a wussy nerd, so making them very close would have seemed fake.

^ Yeah, precisely. Hank had little to no respect for Walt, and Walt always resented that. This is especially evident in the early seasons. Think back to that great scene between Walt, Hank, and Walt Jr with the tequila.

Along the same lines I always thought it was great the way they showed Flynn's admiration of Hank for his skull cracking cop attitude.

Walt finally got to be the kinda bad arse that Flynn admired but could never get the recognition because he couldn't ever show his son who he had become.

**Not sure if this makes sense the way I typed it out**

I posted a picture of Jimmy dressed Heisenberg on the previous page... I don't think anyone picked up on it because they were so similar. Good to see someone else got some enjoyment out of it.

I agree with this, but I think the point that the previous poster was trying to make was this:

It should either be that Hank and Walt have a close relationship, and this makes Walt not want to harm or kill Hank.....OR Hank and Walt don't have an extremely close relationship, so Walt shouldn't be sooooo against Hank dying in order to save himself and others.

In other words, the poster was saying that since Walt was so against killing Hank to save himself, then the writers must be trying to say that he and Hank were close. If this is their reason for Walt not wanting Hank dead, they did a poor job of showing this.

Obviously, there are other reasons than their relationship that Walt would not want Hank dead (family, Skylar, etc). But it is still interesting that Walt is so against killing someone who he has never been particularly fond of, especially when he was more than willing to kill Jesse (who I would argue he had a closer relationship with than Hank).

I don't think it's either. Walk has always said family first, it's all about the family, etc. He continues to stand by it. He doesn't really care for Hank or Marie, but they are family.

So, according to the writers, the next episode, 'Ozymandias', is the best episode of the series. Vince Gilligan says it will "knock your ****ing socks off".

In short -- prepare yourselves for some epic television.

Hank has always been an opponent of Walt, but Hank has just been too dense to realize it.

Jessie has arguably been Walt's best friend, but he betrayed Walt (from Walt's perspective) because he is a coward and too stupid to be grateful.

Betrayal of a close friend is more painful than your opponent, therefore, it makes sense that Walt would want to take out Jessie but not Walt.

Can't wait. Although admittedly I am hoping that the last episode is the best episode. But that's asking an awful lot.

Just rewatched this past episode. Brilliant acting by Jesse. Maybe some of his best. When the scene in the desert starts, you can tell Jesse is still terrified of Walt... Even when Walt is defenseless and totally caught.

Thanks. You articulated my thoughts better than I could! Two episodes ago, we saw a photo of Walt/Skyler in Hank's guest bedroom. It's further proof that the two couples see each other as more than just family. No question they are best friends. Obviously Skyler and Marie are close as sisters, but I never felt that loving or buddy connection between Walt and Hank/Marie. Like others said, Gilligan has done a great job of showing the contrasts between Walt the geek and Hank the jock. Yet I feel like the show tried to portray them as best buddies. They're always hanging out together and in the special features from the season 1 DVD, Walt even serves as Hank's best man! Their buddy relationship feels forced and Walt's deep care about Hank's survival doesn't seem realistic.

No. But good luck getting any of the rounds used through the engine block (which is where Hank and Gomez are behind for the majority of that scene.).

I meant more how is Walt safe from all the bullets that went into the side of the suburban? Of course it's a tv show and not reality, but just wondering. Or is that a dea suburban?
sharkenleo

If you pay close attention, all the bullets are concentrated to the front door. They're probably avoiding hitting their meth cook.

some bullets are hitting the ceiling above Walt, as I recall. there's a scene in which walt is hitting the deck in the truck, his glasses come off, and the camera angle is from the floorboard looking up so you can see the roof being riddled.

This further illustrates how poor of a shot these guys are and why Hank and Gomez aren't hit immediately.
