The Nazi want Walt and will smoke him out per say. Hence go after his family. Walt obviously in New Hampshire so someone is keeping Walt updated. Hmmm Saul

Sepinwall sums it up:

quote:
Maybe later this week, I'll revisit it with a longer, more coherent look. Because this was incredible, and horrible. Hank and Gomez are dead. The Nazis have Walt's fortune, and have a brutalized Jesse as their prisoner to help Todd cook meth. Marie is a widow. Flynn has had his entire worldview shattered. Nearly everything bad that could happen to these people has happened. And we still have two hours, a machine gun and a ricin capsule to get through.

Gus didn't use Ricin against the cartel

I kinda agree about the nazi's being the final bad guys. Yeah they're pretty damn bad, but they seem like they came out of nowhere.

Any chance Gus' Chilean connection plays into this? Does Lydia have any kind of connection to them?

I think the Nazi's are more about how Walt didn't control outliers as well as Gus and how careless Walt has become.

The Nazis were about to let Walt walk away before they even got Jesse.

I don't mind it so much as it kinda shows you don't have to be some criminal mastermind to be the one that takes the throne (at least for a period of time).

You hear about it from time to time when rich kids or suits get mixed up with the easy money of the drug game and suddenly they come face to face with some thug that doesn't give a **** how much money you have or what it might do to their rep.

The situation Walt has found himself in with the Nazis is a direct result of him getting away from the "safe and secure" operation that Gus was running. As Mike said -- if he had just shut up and done his job everything would have been fine.

He wanted to be king. He became king... For a short time. He's now coming to the realization that it takes more then just being the smartest to stay the king.

I think I still need some time to step back from the episode, considering how emotionally devastating it was, but I'm fairly sure that was the best hour of television I've ever seen. The knife scene was ridiculously good acting.

I think Walt thinks he has control over them but not a much as I see it. They are all about money. They basically took Walt money and Walt didn't blink an eye.

Probably doing a horrible job of getting my point across

Was it ricin or something similar? Just asking

Which one? The fake blaming Hank or the real Jesse confession detailing everything they did?

It was never stated but it definitely wasn't ricin. Likely cyanide considering the immediacy of its effects and the fact that Gus was able to take an antidote.

Gus did not put ricin in the tequila. Ricin does not work that fast.

I think the reason, thematically at least, for the Nazis being the resolution to the series has to have something to do with them being white supremacists and Walt's name being White. I haven;t quite got my hands on it completely but I think it's in there.

Also, ricin must be injected or inhaled to take effect.

Ricin can have an affect orally, just not as fast. It's poisonous no matter the route it's administered

In order for it to kill a full grown man via oral administration, there would need to be a crap load of it, as in nearly 20 whole beans worth of the stuff.

Is the timeline a year.. We know he makes to his 52nd birthday and he had his 51st already.

Seems like less than a year to me.

Probably around 8 months is more like it.

Think we around 7/8 months. He was "clean" for about 3 months.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
It will be multiple months. Walt has hair in the flash-fowards.

I assume the penultimate will be a typical penultimate...the project will be to tie everything together and have it wrapped up for the ultimate finale of a series. Penultimate season finales are much different from penultimate series finales.

Expect next week to be great, but also realize it will set the stage for what we will see in the finale. Be appreciative of tonight, the finale, and everything we've seen from the beginning of the series run.

Holly being 18 months old should mean that Walt's birthday is in 3 months or so. Skylar was 6 months pregnant when the show began, I believe.
