What a lot of people thought as slow or uninteresting in season one proved to be necessary set up as the seasons went on.

I know they are coming out with the monster complete series package in November, but are there any rumblings about a series soundtrack? That would be epic.

Season 1 went unfinished due to the writers strike. What there was, was fantastic.

To be fair, The Wire was slated for 13 episodes, but only got approved for 10 by HBO. So when people mention the last season as weak they're right. The writers acknowledged it as much because of the limitations they had.

The last season of The Wire almost didn't happen. It feels rushed because it was.

No way they don't do that.

There is a partial list up if you want to try to compile: http://breakingbad.wikia.com/wiki/Music

Line of Fire is playing on my computer right now.

Wife and I really enjoyed the finally. I thought it was wrapped up nicely.

Did anyone notice the person in the matching "corn flower blue" shirt running down the sidewalk in the background when Lydia was about to get up and run from Walt? Maybe a suggestion as to what she should have done instead of sitting back down and getting drugged. Or a reference to the ending of the blue meth.

Breaking Bad had 62 episodes, The 62nd element on the periodic table is Samarium, which is used in treating lung cancer.

I don't think this has been posted but some thoughts/insight into the writing process from VG on the finale...

Does any one else wish they would have made 3 different finales? The one we got (which I thought was great), the darkest one possible (every one is dead except for Walt), and a full blown Jesse-Walt confrontation?

Donald:

I actually mentioned something similar to that to my wife Sun night just before the show started. I was hoping to get the ending we all see that is used.

But then in the box set i was hoping to get at least 2 other alternate endings that woulda been fun to watch.

Also, how cool would it be to one day wake up and find out that Gilligan held 3 episodes back for later airings? Like the "Lost BB Episodes". Episodes set between season 2 and 5. A guy can dream

I loved how everyone was talking about the connection of the Marty Robbins song El Paso and the finale. Everyone thought that felina was either Skyler or Jessie, but it turned out it was his meth lab. It ended just like the song.

Great touch by Giligan in using the badfinger song to conclude it as well. Yes the finale was a bit predictable, but it ended just the way it should have.

Just watched it last night. Perfect ending.
Favorite scenes:
-Jesse's box making flashback and his freedom drive/cry/smile/yell
-Walt telling Skylar why he did it
-Every time you saw Walt lurking in the the background. Elliot's house, Skylar's kitchen, coffee shop.

This might have been discussed did anyone notice where Walt was shot was the same or close to the same area Hank was shot with the cousin's got him? And Jesse strangling Todd was very similar to Walt and Crazy 8.

Norm MacDonald has a theory, which he may or may not actually believe, that Walt died in the frozen car in New Hampshire and that everything that happens is just a dying man's fantasy. I'm sure that's not the case, but it would explain how everything just went as perfectly planned from that point on.

I think he may have gotten it from the new yorker: http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/culture/2013/09/breaking-bad-finale-reviewed.html

It's an interesting take, and upon reflection, things did go a little too smoothly for Walt, but ultimately I don't believe that was the writers' intent that he froze to death.

If it were a fantasy, Walt would've been forgiven by Skyler and Flynn.

LOL. That's how you know the writers played it too safe (despite the reputation and expectation that they wouldn't) - when people start coming up with theories like this. The finale was predictable and a little too clean. It is what it is.
