Remember how Season 5 started. Those events have not yet happened. Walt bought a big-ass gun for a big-ass reason. That scene took place on his next birthday, which I believe is a few months out from where the 1st half of the season left off. Without going back to watch the episode, I think I remember Walt being quite far away from home.
