30 minutes later and I'm STILL ****ING WAITING

This show is really hard to hear at times. I think I need to start watching with closed captioning.

They mumble a little too much for dramatic effect, I had trouble hearing a lot of the convo towards the end.

It seems pretty clear to me that the show's producers are saying that he has given up treatment by the end of the series.

He has hair, but he's still taking pills (based on the first episode of season five). It's clear that he still has cancer but has no reason to continue treatment and is going to go out in some form or fashion.

This is the first episode I have watched in real time. This waiting a week will suck

IMO, Jesse is ultimately going to flip and help Hank. It seems the logical route with the way the show is going.

Gilligan is contrasting Jesse's rise from druggie dip**** to honorable, moral human being while simultaneously showing Walt's downfall. The "full circle" event would be a "happy" ending for Jesse and a poor ending for Walt.

Any theories about what/who the ricin is for?

Does anyone else see the real life comparison between Walter white and JFF? All the police(NCAA) have is a signature...just saying.

Also my prediction is Hank spray paints Heisenburg on the living room wall.

I think most would say the ricin is for Walt. However, if he still has cancer, Walt could just let that kill him and the ricin could be used on someone else. Could be a back up plan to the cancer.

I wonder if Sal flips in the next episode.

Not sure if discussed, but read on another thread that Walt has taken on some of the little habits of the people he's offed... Krazy 8 and the crust of the bread, tea/coffee in regards to Gale.

Would seem to imply that him doing his age with his bacon in the first half of this season means he does away with Skylar.

What if Hank tells Marie about Walt, who then tells Skyler, who then tells Walt to take out Hank?

Thirded, I just finished last season earlier today.

Loved the faceoff in the garage at the end, as already mentioned some amazing acting in that scene. I'm intrigued to see what direction things go from here.

You saying that made me think back to the scene with Lydia at the car wash. Basically the same as when Walt goes to see Gustavo at Pollos Hermanos to try and force the interview for the lab position.

It's been an hour and my mind is still blown. That first 5 minutes of the show and the last 5 made my cable bill totally worth it this month.

Towel on the floor when throwing up was like Gus before he took out the cartel.

Interesting conflict. Skylar doesn't know WW is going to chemo so she doesn't know the cancer is back. Does Hank tell Skylar and Marie WW has cancer or that he is Heisenberg?

I may watch the tread lightly scene 10 times tonight!

Either he beats it again, or he says screw it and gets off chemo. But maybe that cough he has in the dennys bathroom is that eso****eal irritation he had when he beat it before?

I think Lydia goes ape sheet and does something stupid.

Several things. First, Hank obtained that book illegally. If that ever came out in court any lawyer would motion to suppress that as evidence and its all Hank has.

Second, Walt didnt confess. He said if you dont know who I am, then tread lightly. Hank gave him all the details but Walt didnt take the bait. "Tread lightly" could mean, "yes I am Heisenberg and Ill blow up your house like I did the nursing home (since family doesnt mean anything to Hank) and also say you were in on it from the beginning (discussed a few pages back in this thread)." Or it could mean, "Im an innocent dying man and youll look like an idiot trying to pin this on me."

Thoughts?

I loved that Walt gave Hank a little taste of Heisenberg, as if to say "Do you really want this?"

Anyway, yes that too. Hank doesnt tell anyone his cancer is back. Only he and Hank know.

So much awesome in that episode. Only downside was the mopey Jesse scene in his house.

Didn't even think of that. Was Walt in the room when that happened?

If so, I'd say it's being pretty heavily tipped that Walt kills Skylar.

There's so much that can happen this season. Hank knows who WW is, but will he find out that Skyler knows as well? Does Walt kill Skyler? What happens with Jesse? What happens with the ricin? I could go on and on.

My guesses:
Hank finds out that Skyler knows
Walt kills Skyler
Jesse offs himself
After that, no idea.

As others have said, I'm STILL blown away an hour and a half later. "Tread lightly" will be the line of the season IMO.
