How's this for wild-@ss theories...
"Confessions" isn't about Walt or Jesse or Skylar confessing their involvement in the crimes, it's Hank's boss' confession...along with Jesse & Gomez...about Jesse's role this entire time as a DEA informant.
Perhaps he's always been a mole since the beginning, or maybe he was recruited at some point along the way as a way to stay out of prison.
Gale isn't really dead. Jesse really did move his gun to the side to merely wing him instead of kill him.
Saul was brought in along the way, too. Hell, maybe he was recruited by the DEA at an earlier date due to some kind of leverage the DEA has on him. Perhaps Jesse introducing Saul & Walt was orchestrated by the DEA as a way to inject Saul into the investigation.
The laser tag place with "Danny" that Saul was pushing so hard for Walt to buy? It's a DEA front. Danny was probably a DEA agent. Hell, Huell and Bill Burr might even be DEA.
Hank was left out of the loop this whole time because the DEA brass was worried he was involved with Walt or would give it away by accident, even if they knew he knew nothing of Walt's involvement.
When Hank started suspecting Gus, Hank's boss at the time & Gomez treated Hank like he was crazy. They even tried to get him shipped off to El Paso, promoted him to a desk job, and put him on mandatory leave trying to make sure he stayed out of the investigation.
Obviously there are a few holes in this theory that I can't account for...but if you think the final 6 episodes won't involve some completely out-of-left-field unpredictable plotline...you haven't been watching.
